I think the first 2 Marquez fights were better but the early parts of the Cotto fight were solid

The thing is Cotto was coming from a brutal assault and weight drained.

I believe this was the fight that I overheard late great Emmanuel steward say, he couldn't believe how bad cottos technique was. Then they got together and tuned that.

The thing is when Cotto lost to Margarito, some posters tried discussing him as a potential WW fight for Pacquiao and were dismissed as trolls.

At that time Pacquiao had only one fight above SFW, a mismatch against David Diaz, a guy who got a very generous decision against Erik Morales.

No one expected Pacquaio to do what he did back then and it doesn't really matter what captain hindsight says 12 years later.

I stand by my statement, I was very impressed and I think it was his peak performance.

Lol changing the story. Cotto went from shot to weight drained, because he couldn’t be “shot” anymore due to his MW titles and giving Floyd and Canelo a hard time.

Cotto weighed 146 for his last fight, 145 for Pac fight, he wasn’t drained. Cotto said he wasn’t drained. His trainer said he wasn’t drained. I’d believe both of them over 22JM.

Do you actually know boxing?? The Pacquiao fight took right away from the Margarito assault, He than fought Mayweather and Canelo on a higher weight

Erm I didn't have anyone on anything.

When have I ever slated Canelo for beating someone coming off a ko loss? Kovalev was a great victory.

    Are you OK hun?

Dude, you've got to do research if you're gonna troll. Otherwise, you make yourself look silly and uneducated.

Cotto had TWO fights after Margarito — TWO. One plus one equals two.

Cotto fought Jennings 8 months after Margarito and knocked him out.

Cotto fought Clottey 4 months after Jennings.

5 months later after Clottey, who was a huge hard-hitting welterweight, he fought Pacquiao.

    Do YOU actually know boxing???

Pacquiao vs Marquez 4 was the best for me. 2 great fighters in close, action packed rounds.

That version of pac knocks floyd out, that version of cotto also beats floyd. Remember a washed up cotto was the first person to break floyds nose in a fight.

The first 4 rounds were very good but I never got the impression watching to that it was among the best first 4 rounds ever.

    There were classic fights that only went 4, 5 or 6 rounds, like Ramirez-Rosario 2, Foreman-Lyle, Vazquez-Marquez 2, Moorer-Cooper, etc...

And there were others that after 4 rounds, already had a lot of back and forth action and/or shifts in momentum like Trinidad-Vargas, Robinson-Gatti 1, Corrales-Castillo 1, Barrera-Morales 1, etc.

Duck what?? Cotto was not the same Cotto since the brutal assault from Margarito and most people had Clottey beating Cotto and Pacquiao DID fight Cotto in a catch weight
