A lot of back and forth between these two since the summer. Seems like things might be getting closer, even though Broner doesn't seem too interested. Despite losing to Taylor, I liked watching him and it would be a fun fight, for the build up alone, at 140. Who wins?
Nah, Broner isn´t easy for anyone. The fact that he is so defensive is a pain in the ass. At times, Manny was clearly super annoyed by his pity-pat counters.
Broner was in all out survival mode against Pac. Literally running and staring at the clock praying for the round to end. Wish he had engaged Pac like he did Mikey, Porter, and Vargas.
He was ultimately pretty easy for Manny and Garcia. He was lucky in my book not to have L’s to Vargas and Granados too. Ok, last two were pretty competitive but the first two weren’t really. He doesn’t throw enough. And that isn’t going to change all of a sudden
Given the timing, I'm sure he'll be fighting a journeyman next month. I wish he would not continue getting main event slots. When is the last time he won a meaningful fight?
Broner did push Mikey in the closing rounds. But yes, overall he doesn´t present much of a threat these days. But he is a pain to deal with, which was my point. He doesn´t engage much, he doesn´t open up much and he looks for sneaky counters. Plus he is fast, has a solid punch and is though as hell. No one has beaten him "comfortably". Clearly? Absolutely. But the man is a pain in the ass to fight.
Pac is as definitely comfortable in there. I take your point in that you have to work against him and you won’t just blast him out but I don’t think he would lose Prograis any particular trouble. He works hard, is strong on the inside and is tough himself. Broner will Broner. You might get a couple of rounds where it looks like he might announce himself in the fight and then that’ll be it. He’s nothing more than something of a name to top end fighters
Yea, I was just speaking from the aspect of it being comfortable. I don´t see how anyone has comfortably beaten him. Dude is hard to deal with, in an annoying sense. But Prograis would likely get a wide UD over Broner.
Prograis isn't as skilled as Manny or Mikey. And he doesn't have the brute force of Maidana. I'm not sure Rougarou could solve the Problem as easily as you think.
Fair enough. Even if he did, Broner would still be a pain to deal with. Dude is sharp and also really defensive.
Prograis is decent, he'd take it to Broner and either take it on the cards or make Broner quit. He has one narrow points loss on his record against a genuinely World Class boxer in Josh Taylor (I don't care about what he does on Twitter when we're discussing a fight).
