Hopefully not! But right now I think Williams does come across as high risk low reward. BJS is pushing towards the Canelo fight so with that fight seemingly heading out of sight, Andrade should defend against Williams in what would be a real good match up. Andrade is hardly a big draw himself so he would be rather stupid to drop the title because it would leave him in a weaker position when coming to the negotiating table. He's already seen as an awkward fighter as it is, so take away his world title and I don't see people queuing to fight him.
Very unlucky to be facing a slippery stylistic nightmare like Andrade! It's impossible to look good against him, plus he's quite big too. Luke Keeler had a disastrous fight with Andrade, and while he might not be as good as Williams, Keeler is a solid boxer. But he got nowhere against Andrade!
Bit of a **** opponent to get his shot against really. Andrade is awful to watch and hard to hit. Cant see Willams having much luck here unfortunately.
Andrade has said a few times he doesn’t want to box Liam Williams as no one in the states knows who he is. I think there’s a chance of him vacating here.
I’m surprised that a deal hasn’t been agreed via MTK as go between. Assuming Eddie/DAZN were going to pay a decent purse, I would have thought Frank would have been ok to get the UK rights for BT and allowed Williams ton go stateside.. Maybe Eddie needs it for DAZN Uk and can’t agree that, so will look to outbid him Unless Frank/BT fancy doing the fight over here and are happy to give it a good go, despite being on the wrong end of the split. As others have said, Andrade is finding it hard enough to secure a big fight; so to drop the belt would seem like insanity.
Left of centre, given crowds are allowed in the US, does Frank/Bob bid for it and have it in the US with a live gate?
I honestly don’t think Andrade thinks Williams is anything in terms of a threat most boxing fans see him as a bit of a risky challenge unless Eddie is in his ear telling him this is a fight we don’t really need to be taking. Andrade if anything will probably take him lightly thinking he is no threat at all if the fight happens.
Given Fox took him the distance and William's sparked him quickly, that might have got his attention?
I honestly don't think Williams causes Andrade many problems. I think Williams will get nullified. Once Andrade gets a read on Williams's rhythm and aggression, he'll coast it. I'm not convinced Williams can adapt and bring in a plan B or C.
