Anytime Stiverne is spoken in the FOTY the standards have hit rock bottom. I must say I did not expect his predator looking aze face to go beyond 8. 1/2 rounds. I hate to say it but this was an entertaining fight
Gutsy effort from Stiverne to drag himself off the mat after getting planted for the second time, but he really shouldn't have been allowed to continue. That fight was better and lot more fun than it had any right to be.
...poor Bryan. He jumps through all the hoops the WBA tells him to and becomes interim champ, then regular champ - but to many he isn't (and could well never be) a real champion.
Agreed, second knockdown should've been it. He literally just lay there on his back without a twitch for a full count of two before attempting to get up. That's never a good sign.
Why do people "hate to say" when they enjoyed a fight? I'll never understand that. If a fight's good, it's good. If a fight sucks, even if they are supposed to be the pound-for-pound "best," then it sucks.
He needs to keep fighting less and less powerful guys and getting stopped later and later. (they'll need to resurrect 15-rounders...and then go full-on 19th century and have unlimited rounds...) TKO1 in the Wilder rematch TKO6 against Joyce TKO11 here tonight And it just so happens that, accordingly, Bryan's power is alright, Joyce's is pretty good, and Wilder's is devastating.
This statement should be quoted for years to come. Also is Don King Promotion finished as a powerhouse? Why is he showing boxing from the 1970's?
He's a champ just like the Usyk-Joyce winner will be. He's in the mix. He needs to drop the extra 30 pounds he put on during the pandemic, though.
Because screening things he owns the rights to (in robust VHS quality) is cheaper than staging a full undercard. Literally every classic fight he included on the PPV (that people, you know, paid to view...) is available free on YT.
