You shouldn’t be paying the same price or more than you did years ago to see people who a 13 year old lad would put in hospital if a shot landed clean. It’s entertainment and you should be paying for the best. Not people who kids of the opposite Sex would destroy. If they want to do it it has to be on all women’s shows. If not, it is handy for going the bar but that still doesn’t change the fact you’re getting ripped off though. As for the footy it deserves no respect until they make the goals smaller. Half the gks are about 5 foot 4 if one of them kicks the ball 6 and a half foot high, even slowly it’s a goal. It’s absolute laughable.
Yep. There will be half decent 13 year-old lads in gyms up and down the country who would flatten any of the top female fighters without breaking a sweat. That's just reality and why having them on top level shows is a massive rip off. That's why it always makes me laugh when you get the obligatory "oooh she'd beat up" comment. Talk about judging others by your own low standards. These nerds must have never had a fight or done any kind of athletic exertion ever in their lives. I remember seeing Katie Taylor teeing off for multiple rounds against some clueless, 9 stone, 45 year-old single mother who looked like they'd dragged out from a nearby boxercise class for the chance of earning a few quid, and never really hurting her. But she is going to 1 shot KO some bloke who could be about 6ft and 14 stone
Exactly. It’s just biology and can’t be helped. Women do these sorts of things to gain respect and equality when in reality they’ve had it for decades. The likes of the pushing of female sports and over the top feminism makes women less respected from stuff I’ve seen. It winds people up. No issues at all with people doing it but why do they have to force it into the mainstream by ramming it down throats.
Everything is about feelings, emotion and moral outrage these days. So if you don't want to part with your hard earned money to watch women's sports, it's not because it's objectively rubbish and way below the standard you want for what you are paying, it's because you're a sexist pig who must hate women. I posted in another thread about the USA women's football teaming getting thrashed by Dallas under 15's. So the greatest and most dominant women's football team of all time got hammered by a bunch of 14 year-old boys who will be many, many levels below the standard we have in the academies here even in lower leagues. 99% of those kids will only ever play the game as a hobby and for any who do go pro, it will almost certainly still be at a low level. Yet they were still way too much for best the women's game has to offer. How many people on here would be happy to pay 20/30/40 quid or whatever to watch Dallas under 15's? Yet I'm supposed to keep my mouth shut when some woman is on Sky or the BBC whinging and ramming it down our throats about inequality and sexism because men get more coverage and more money.
I think really you need to leave gender out of it and go by what's you find entertaining, Men vs Women isn't ever going to be an even contest given the physical differences. If I never saw a female football match again it wouldn't bother me. Tennis, maybe. MMA and boxing still intrigue me, that's probably about it. Nothing against women, I just don't find watching the majority of all female sport very enjoyable and unless huge improvements are made I don't think I will. In terms of pay, it's like anything, if you want equal pay you need to be equally successful ie draw in the same revenue which is done by your sports popularity. If 500 people watch West Ham ladies then they should not be paid the same as the men's team, there's just no logic behind equal pay when it's like that, it's ridiculous. I think most women understand that, make your own thing good and become undeniable rather than whine about wanting the same as men. Remove gender and look at the product you are selling because that's what it is.
To be fair, with equal pay in the football I think that's largely only been demanded for the international teams. It doesn't make any real impact to the FA's budget and whilst their crowds still aren't as good as the men's it has to be remembered that the man don't need the money from it, in fact I think they turn it all over to charity. I'm with you though, I cannot watch their football. It's so bad. I used to think it was League 2 level but the more I watch it the more I realise it's actually much lower than that. I don't enjoy their boxing much either. You do get entertaining fights but they do often lack drama. A lot of punches being thrown with no one really getting hurt. No great KO's. It's just naff, and it's a little suffocating having to pretend otherwise. Hearn is doing a lot for it and fair enough I suppose. Anyone who thinks he is doing so out of altruism rather than knowing they're cheap to make is a fool though IMO
