Nice to see him back. He's far too talented to have retired early. I would have preferred to have seen him have a fresh start with a good promoter and new trainer. He has the ability to be a world champion, it's just mentally wheres his head at which is the big question , and that he's not had a big promoter backing him. Would like to see him sign with Hearn.
He seems in good place now so hopefully he can win a world title and make some money before its to late
I had so much hope for Andrew Selby, one of the few British boxers of recent years to get me out of my seat with excitement, so entertaining I found him. Badly managed and it cost him dearly, I'd love to see him turn his life around to the extent that he wins a World Title boxing beautifully but I just think it might be a bridge too far given how messy his life has been.
He's another one who you thought was nailed on to become a world champion as a pro.... hugely talented but just hasn't worked out for him. Good to see him back and hopefully in a better mental state of mind. Good luck to him.
Hopefully he can do well. He had a big task going to South America to fight martinez. It was a bit of a shock at the time but since it doesn't look as bad. If selby is matched right and gives it 2 or 3 years of being professional and living right he will win a world title hands down. He should try to get a deal with Eddie or Frank to give him the opportunities.
A total contrast to his sister Lee - great boxing skills, very entertaining fighter but lacking power. He can win a World Title as there are so many but he will need 100% dedication now.
As it stands he will go down as one of the biggest wastes of talent we have seen in this country. All the talent and ability but poorly managed along with a serious lack of dedication, no secret that he doesn't love the sport. If he has truely changed and is enjoying training and living the life then he will win a world title but there has to be a lot of wrongs made right for that to happen.
