Lol Hagler is not stopping GGG inside 7/8 rounds.... simply not happening.

For the record, I see Hagler taking a close decision in a very entertaining and tough night for both men. Superb fight.

Could say the same about Hagler and previously 147 Leonard who'd been out the ring for 3 years..........

    Swings and roundabouts.

GGG v Hagler is a close fight that's going the distance with both men having there moments.

Thing about Golovkin was that he wasn't a fast twitch KO artist but he was very heavy handed and he wore his opponents completely out.

Very similar fighters in some ways.

They both were technical boxers with great balance that fought from behind a jab and had heavy heavy hands. Hagler seems a bit faster, Golovkin seems a bit more powerful.

Hagler is more versatile in that he could fight southpaw as well, Golovkin probably with the wider selection of punches. I've always fancied Hagler becaise of his close-fighting ability but on the other hand I've been thinking more and more about the fact that GGG is in fact a fair bit larger due to their different weigh in rules. I'm not sure how Hagler would deal with a 173lb fighter with elite skills in the ring and I'm not sure how Golovkin could make 160 on the same day and be as effective as he usually is.

At the moment I really have a hard time picking.

Ofcourse 22 forgot to mention that Mugabi came up from light-middleweight while holding that belt just to fight Hagler & arguably gave one of Haglers toughest fights...

Would be one of the best fights you could make among MW champs. I'd make Hagler a slight favorite because he was more agile and I think he would make GGG miss more often than GGG would make him miss, but Golovkin would be able to land his shots. Neither man knocks out the other tho.

I think it would along the lines of Benn v Mc cellan in bruttality but a draw or split deceision...love 'em both.... Look on Canelo in envy

Call it intuition but something makes me feel he's not gonna reply to this point. The only way to invalidate it would be to argue SRL is vastly superior to Canelo...

Tommy didn't fight a fight to use it really. He went in there wanting to knock out Hagler. And Hagler says Tommy had the best jab he ever faced, but Tommy used it in round 2 when he was trying to stay away and land his punches from the outside. GGG did not have a better jab than Thomas Hearns. Tommy had a 78 inch reach.. Marvin had a 75 inch reach GGG has a 70 inch reach. Marvin would outjab him. GGG never had a Marvin Hagler in front of him who was that strong. Those guys he fought were not Marvin Hagler.. Tommy said Marvin was the strongest fighter he fought, not the hardest puncher but the strongest physically. That is important.

The forward momentum of GGG would work against him and Marvin would bust him up and knock him out. I am sure of it. GGG fights alot of guys, but not the level Marvin did. Duran, and Hearns and Leonard, then Vito, Fully Obel, Minter, Roldan, Hamsho two times. Then the Philly fights. A different level of fighters then. GGG racks up experience fighting the guys now but it is not the same. Marvin would have loved a fighter like GGG in front of him. What he didn't like were the boxers who controlled the pace and made him miss.

Ok well not knocking the "names" of the fighters Marvin fought... the likes of Duran, Hearns and Leonard are all elite but they were all naturally smaller men coming up in weight and Hagler fought in the days of same day weigh in comparison to the naturally bigger GGG who boils down to 160 for the day before weigh in an comes in heavier on fight night.

Possible if MH goes hard to G's body. That's the only time I've seen G hurt. No way either man gets knocked out from a shot to the head.

This bull**** again. Anyone who knows anything about boxing knows Marvelous Marvin Hagler will destruct and destroy Lil G. You need a lot more than what Lil G has to defeat the Marvelous One.

Hagler by decision. Hagler was a better technician. But GGG is tough as nails. I think it goes the distance.
