Yildirim is going to take a beating. Think an Andre Ward vs Paul Smith mismatch, but ending sooner because of Canelo's power and explosiveness.
He's improved his punching technique a lot, but lately it seems he's really trying to put his all into shots for that haymaker kind of power when he isn't really the biggest puncher and it could leave him more open to counters if he doesn't vary it enough. I've noticed he's really falling in love with the idea of becoming a massive puncher recently, even when it isn't really the case. He's still a good puncher though of course.
Agreed. If there's a critique I have about Canelo's game that he can control (which means his plodding feet aren't part of this) is the fact that he loads up on everything. It's effective since he's a tank and pretty damn quick, but when he has guys against the ropes, I think he'd be even better if he mixed up the velocity, power, and used more set-up shots like a Chavez did. It'd make him more unpredictable.
The truly elite guys have used Canelo's propensity to look for that massive shot against him a few times now. He really does need to mix it up like you said.
If Eubank Jnr. can put a grade A ass whooping on Yildirim then you better believe Canelo can do the same. If Avni gets past round 6 I'll be surprised and a little impressed but, I can only see a sustained beat down ending before the half way mark.
Even thought it's a mismatch we all know anything can happen in a fight so kudos to canelo for leading by example and being one of the most active champions in the sport even though he can net more than anyone in just one fight
Clenelo lost more than half of that guaranteed DAZN money and he's trying to make up for it. But yeah, credit to him for being active. Think of it like unrealized losses in his investment portfolio.
Let go of your jealousy and hatred and give credit where it's due and move on. I'm not interested in petty money counting and arm chair promoting
