Sad to see this choice of opponent. Would rather see Charlo Andrade, or a top MW. GGG is old and trying for that last Canelo payday before hanging up the gloves.

You just insulted village idiots everywhere.

Eventually when they get their stuff together, get disciplined, learn to work in groups, take showers, eat healthy and figure out complex problems like shoelaces... they’re gonna come for you.

Well you said it yourself, he was widely avoided during his prime years, so he can't be blamed for it can he. That other poster is going on about Eubank when the only reason that fight didn't happen already was because Eubank's team walked away when the fight was all but done and just needed their signature. Brook was the last minute replacement.

These fighters that are supposedly clamouring to fight him now don't deserve the fight, they spent years ducking a prime GGG, so i'm cool with GGG fighting whoever he wants to at this stage.

He was definitely avoided years ago. His and his team’s choices aren’t immune to criticism now though. Yeah, he still goes to Canastota regardless of who he fights in the next 3 or4 fights, or however many he has left.

However, if we’re being fair, they open themselves up to the same criticism for not fighting the top guys, or the up and comers, the same way we criticize the guys wouldn’t fight him years back.

Again, not that Murata is a bad fight. I just expected a better opponent, especially after Szeremeta.

I’d have much preferred Charlo. Even Andrade or Eubank. Or even a jump in weight and stake a claim there to apply pressure to Canelo to fight him again. Just my opinion.

I've always wanted to see this fight.

Should be good considering where GGG is at at this stage of his career.

Are you talking about the Martirosyan that should have got the nod vs Mell Charlo and handled Chavez junior in sparring? Make sure you try to make him look bad because GGG destroyed him.

Murata is a fun fighter to watch. He's eager to get stuck in, has a good chin and is pretty fast. He packs some power in his punches and mixes up his punches well. His best attribute I think is his energy. He throws endless salvoes when he has the other guy hurt. That said, his power is not comparable to Golovkin's and he seems to be relatively easy to land on, being willing to take one to give one. That would be an awful strategy against GGG who I think hits visibly harder and more accurately. Murata should seek to utilise his snappy fast jab to work from behind of, and maximise his speed advantage over Golovkin.

Frankly I think stylistically Golovkin has the advantage here. I fancy even this old version of GGG to win, with the caveat that Murata's energy might be a problem for Golovkin if they see the later rounds.

Wouldn't be shocked if Murata wins. GGG is not what he was.

He's not a can, he's the WBA super champ and he's ranked right behind Derevyanchenko. Murata is also an Olympic Gold medalist and an all action fighter. So its a unification bout. It should be an all action fight.

Ignore him, he either is clueless or says stuff to go against the grain for attention
