Lennox Lewis destroys Tyson in June 2002. In 2003, after a number of possible names drop out including Vitali, Lewis signs to meet Corrie Sanders.
Sanders is facing Lewis instead of Wladimir. Lewis s last fight and not fully prepared and ageing, is this a potential danger fight?

Lewis himself viewed Sanders as dangerous and told him as much. I think Sanders would have had a healthy chance against him, even though you'd have to favour Lewis on pedigree.

Edit: if you're talking about end of the road Lewis, then I'd put money on Sanders. Not to say Lewis couln't win, but Corrie had a way of touching guys that were in any way slow with their defence.

I agree. A dangerous fight for Lewis. Lewis is the much more complete fighter. But, if he gets tagged with that left he is going down just like Wlad did.

Nah, Lewis sticks that straight right thru and good nite Flash in the Pan Snders, he is sooo open for that straight right it is not even funny ,Lemmie aint no panic strucken WK................replay of the Nate Tubbs fight

Sanders is only "dangerous" for the K brothers Fan club because that guy did jack shid for his entire career except waxing timid glass chinned WK.............Buster Douglas was a Flash in the pan too but at least he had SOME quality wins until he met Tyson vs Sanders who feasted exclusively on No Hopers.

A old Lewis with one foot out the door beat prime VK like a rented Mule who stole something from him......Sanders folded like a house of cards against arm puncher VK later on.....levels .

Sanders has as much chance as Hasim Rahman did.

If Lennox in anyway underestimates Sanders or doesn't prepare properly then there's a very real possibility he get's KO'ed here. A fully mentally and physically prepared Lewis however takes Sanders apart and stops him within 5 rounds.

There is no reason to think Saunders has anything better than a 1/10 chance of winning this. Lewis also sparred him before so he would be familiar with him.

Then I guess Lewis himself is a part of the fan club

"A fight Sanders pursued for many years which never came off was against Lennox Lewis. “I always wanted to get Lewis in the ring. I knew I had the beating of him. When I fought [Vitali] Klitschko,

I appreciated that he was prepared to admit it to me personally. It meant that I must have meant something.” "

I understand that you have a soft spot for Sanders who was talented but never had the discipline to become a full time dedicated fighter.

All the above indicated that Lewis would have taken him serious and bombs him out..

If Sanders would have gotten by Rahman he would have gotten his shot, but he did not so he was a low reward no $$$ obscure opponent with zero name recognition in the US or even Europe for Lewis...............that is the reason the WK team picked him up as a easy fight becuase Sanders never delivered up to that point.

Lewis was the better fighter but Lewis also avoided fighting southpaws which makes sense since all of of Lewis's offense came off of the jab. Tougher landing the jab as a conventional fighter against a soutpaw since their lead hand is the right hand. I would take Kewis but obviously Sanders is dangerous with his power. I have always thought Micahel Moorer would have been a tought fight for Lewis with the way he took away the jab from a conventional fighter not to mention his combination punching.

I think Sanders soundly beats him over 18 holes.

In the boxing ring, I think Lennox sparks him out. Corrie lost to Nate Tubbs, who had like two other wins in his entire career against fighters with winning records (and they were below journeyman status). Sanders was a one-hit wonder.
