James Toney's hand speed was criminally underrated at every division he campaigned in

Johnny Tapia and Mark Johnson had very fast hands but rarely get mentioned in that category.

I don't think Whitaker gets enough credit for his speed., though some other names are overlooked even more. I just think people remember the old Whitaker more than his younger prime LW self, so he rarely gets mentioned in hand speed conversations

Good one. He also fought in the pocket a lot as opposed to gliding around the outside and flashing in and out with lightning speed which i think leads him to being overlooked at times. His speed was a common theme in his 135 days.

Hagler had quick hands. He had good double jabs & quick combinations.

The Gibbons brothers, Tippy Larkin, Sharmba Mitchell, Sammy Mandell, and all sorts of small guys like "Wee" Willie Davies and Black Bill.

To my mind, the most underrated speedster right now is Rau'shee Warren. Incredible hand-speed.

Absolute prime Joe Louis. True, he is afforded fast hands.

However, I think he still might’ve been even that bit faster than he is generally given credit for lifting him into an even more elite realm for hand speed.

It’s only when two quick handed fighters meet in the ring that you can really determine who has the edge - and that edge might make all the difference to pre fight prognostications.

Earnie Shavers could switch it up at times throwing faster shots than his usual speed.

The right hands he landed on Ali and Holmes, rd 2 and rd 7 respectively , weren’t just powerful, they caught Muhammad and Larry absolute cold and right on the button.
