Let's be fair, they had the choice of literally anyone in the entire world. They end up with a genuinely hard punching lad with absolutely zero draw. Someone needs to be talking to Matchrooms matchmaker. He has ended up putting Josh in with a lad that has zero upside. The Zelfa vs Kiko matchmaking was terrible as well..
I’m not complaining as I won £200 but you reap what you sow. Warrington looked dreadful at the weight and I don’t think they even thought Lara was any sort of threat.
Them punches couldnt hurt a fly, even his technique was nullifying power, its was area level boxing. A1 weasel.
Records and rankings get read into too much in boxing. Doesnt matter how good you are theres always someone out there that has your number
Someone might be running away with a lot of money if they knew the Mexican fighter could bang like that. I called something fishy after the faux outrage the fight before. The second I saw that left hook land in the first I had my suspicions confirmed. I don't gamble so dont have a betting app. But my mate saw it from the first and got 18/1 on the KO. He only slapped 5 on it.
People complain about Hearn putting on lopsided cards and now complain when the favourite loses and saying he shouldn’t have been “matched” with him.
Aye and the whole "aw the judges cards were shocking" shpiel after every robbery simply isn't good enough..shameful stuff.
Isn't this what we want? Don't see it as bad matchmaking. A guy ranked #1 losing to Lara isn't down to bad matchmaking.
Its bad matchmaking when its put together as a fight you expect the A side to breeze through Its competitive when the fighter and promotion know theres a challenge on both sides Matchroom and Warrington clearly didnt see Lara as such Its awful matchmaking
Clever though Deflects the abuse to an extent away from him over to the untouchables at the British Board
It is what we want, I nearly didn't bother watching the main event. But this fight had fairly low key attention, nothing on the line and was basically a "win and move on" type fight. So who ever picked this lad out of obscurity has had an absolute nightmare. Eddie will have lost money on the card, probably done moderate to ok TV numbers and got one of his big names smashed a part. So whoever is their man picking the oppenent has dropped a right bollock, it was not meant to be an entertaining fight.
Good, very entertaining fights and a good card/night of boxing. That's good making from a fans perspective.
