At the end of the day it's down to the fighter to perform.

Warrington didn't, made a lot of talk before the fight about going for the KO and I don't think he was joking. Clearly wanted to make an impression to line up a big fight next.

16 months out of the ring and clearly thought was in for a walk in the park, he has to take the responsibility for that.

Should of treated it like any other fight.

Definitely a decent night from our view 100 per cent

3 good fights out of 5,rarely seen these days

Most definitely wasn't their intention though

American promotions dont tend to make the same mistakes much when cherry picking

Frank has a history of it too your right

Hearns promotion just has the more recent and higher profile examples

yeah, I am starting to wonder about Matchrooms matchmaking and his choice of signings

Josh Warrington vs Mauricio Lara as a warm up fight
    Ted Cheeseman vs Sergio Garcia
    Lewis Ritson vs Miguel Vasquez
    John Docherty vs Jack Cullen

& look how Kell Brooks career got destroyed by sticking him in with Golovkin at middleweight.

Plus signing lately the likes of John Hedges ( total amateur style zero power), Zelfa Barrett, Aqib Fiaz , Quais Ashfaq 4 very poor signings. I remember him signing Sean McGoldrick as well and scratching my head thinking does he even watch fighters before he signs then. I'm wondering how good this Johnny Fisher will be, there's no footage of his amateur fights.

Throughout the Pro Boxing World fight cards are put together so that the home, house, favourite wins ! To guarantee this barring doping or official corruption, which is another can of worms which I am not at present going to open, a fairly easy way is to pick a sub standard opponent. This usually provides a fair share of mismatches and non competitive fights which for me is not that entertaining. I realise that Eddie Hearn is heavily criticised, and that is par for the course I suppose , but I thought the Warrington v Lara bout was exciting and whilst a bad financial/ career result for Matchroom and Warrington it underlined that we need “competitive “ fights.

In most countries a fighter with a record like they would usually be useless. However when they are from Russia or Mexico where they match them tough and they can really fight it's a different story.

If all the home fighters had won easily everyone would be moaning that it weren't competitive and boring. Josh was ranked right at the top of many rankings it's not like he's a young kid on the way up. Surely this is why we watch boxing

Yeah we cant have it both ways, we have been starved of boxing for months and nothing would have been worse than the main event ending in a complete non event

I was hoping Lara was going to be the typical mexican and give Josh hard rounds, not a mismatch but competitive.

what we ended up getting was a massacre due to Inactivity and the lack of a crowd made a huge huge difference, feel.sorry for warrington as he took far to much damage and should have been pulled out earlier.

Reported shoulder injury, broken jaw and burst eardrum, they are the kind of injuries that will ruin a career.

Awful night for josh as the lad had some huge nights ahead and maybe these events without crowds are a danger to fighters?

Obviously with thousands of screaming fans you are going to be more focused and up for a huge fight, let's be honest whyte has been lucky considering the way he was knocked out that he can still box and now warrington.

With Kelly, Joshua and saunders all unlikely to win in the coming months ,matchroom will have some serious rebuilding to do after the summer.

Dont get me wrong, it was a good fight night overall

Worked out for us as fans

But anyone that tells me that was Hearns intention need to get their lips off his bum cheeks

I sincerely hope Hearn keeps making such bad business decisions if it gives us a good show

Viva competitive matchmaking. An evening of good, even fights. It's been a very long time since we've seen that on TV.
Sort the judging out and it will be way easier to explain to some of my mates why I love Boxing.

It was a night that once again exposed Sky, Matchroom, The BBBofC and referees and judges.

British boxing is in a terrible state, it really is, from top to bottom it's rotten.

Just like the Ritson fight a while ago, nothing will be done, nothing will be said, Robert Smith of the BBBofC will do what he nearly always does and vanish or at best come out again and tell us all if we don't have more experience than him in his position he won't listen to us.

Hearn will do what he always does now, have another hour long interview with Koogs, be "BRUTALLY HONEST" and pretend he is gutted about his fighters getting ridiculous decisions or benefitting from ridiculous scorecards.

Everything about last night stunk, it reeked, I still haven't seen anything about the official scorecards at the time of Warringtons KO, sorry Technical Count Out, obviously we can't have a KO on his record.

I'd love to know those cards, I saw somebody on Twitter claim Warrington was 4 rounds up on two cards, how true that is I have no idea, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Couple of other questions I have, it was a 12 round fight without a title on the line.. since when?

Also how on earth does an 18/1 outsider basically get forced in to a rematch clause in a non title fight?

I can only assume it was part of the package, surely the BBBofC should make some kind of rule that says.. only fights with a title on the line can have contracted rematch clauses?

Even if it's a poxy intercontinental title, something, it just doesn't sit right with me.

So the #1 fighter in the division losing is down to bad matchmaking? Warrington lost because of what Josh Warrington did or didn't do in the fight or possibly before the fight. That's on him and his team.

If Warrington would have blasted Lara out in 1 round the argument would have been bad matchmaking and what's the point of fighting such a weak opponent.
