I have just learned that my very good friend, and a man that posted here for quite some time, passed away on the 9th.
He was a boxing guy heart and soul, very well known and respected to the highest levels of the boxing world.
He had a stroke not quite 4 years ago, a very severe stroke, and he was unable to speak for a long time. He was re learning it, but he was no longer able to participate in boxing and that is what killed him.
Years ago I had some health issues of my own and was away from boxing for 8 years. Dempsey1234 read my posts on the training board of this site and contacted me; it turned out that he had seen me work in the gym in Phoenix when I was teaching boxing there and he was managing BJ Flores.
That man proceeded to open doors for me, find opportunities for me and to introduce me to people that are icons of the business side of boxing. He put his reputation on the line to give "some guy you found on the internet" opportunity and threw his weight into building my reputation.
I will never be able to repay him for that. God bless him.

    That absolutely sucks.

He was a good guy who was good to talk boxing with.

A shame. I think I remember him being one of the constants in the classic section. May have been here in the early 2000's when I first joined.

It's funny. I don't how old most are here, though handle names carry a fragrance of personality and opinion.

I remember Dempsey1234 being right into his golden oldies.

    Hope he's resting easy.

We never got on with each other, mainly about Dempsey ,but he was passionate about the sport and that included the nuts and bolts side of the game, and he sure knew his way around the sport.Sorry to hear this news.May He Rest In Peace. Condolences to his family.

Terrible to read. He once sent me some DVD's of some really cool old fights like Jeffries-Sharkey and both full Tunney-Dempsey fights, just to be nice. I remember him very fondly and it's a lesser place without him.

    This is very sad news.

He will be missed by those who had the pleasure to discus boxing with him.
