Josh Warrington vs. Mauricio Lara Acosta & Leigh Wood vs. Reece Mould RBR.

Unfortunately for Warrington and his fighting style it’s just all wrong against that classic solid come forward Mexican style. It just plays into there hands! Makes for a great fight for us fans though. I don’t think Warrington really properly recovered from that first knockdown but I also think he doesn’t have a plan b like using the jab on the outside to frustrate lara.

Had to be Lara a head by a landslide. Macklin didn’t even have a scorecard, he was expecting Warrington to be gone at any moment

 

I bet he said the same to his dad after Prescott killed Khan.

 

Lara can definitely punch as Warrington has a perforated ear drum along with a fractured jaw.

And as the great Max Schmelling once said, it was a sensation i had never felt before, and don't necessarily want to feel it again....

It happens in fights, and changes the course of a fight, doesnt mean the loser is a worse fighter by any means...

It was a great fight, and they both should be applauded.

This was always going to happen to Josh. He has to be 100% every time with his style. He was flat from the start. Lara was like Tony Zale. Not slick but effective. The one two that ended it was classic Zale. Right to the body, left to the jaw.

 

Warrington would beat him in rematch imo.

 

Possibly yes. He has to make the adjustment though. Its obvious what that has to be. Get your shots off and move.

 

I wasn't that far away with this prediction, didn't expect two judges to go wild but certainly one.

And Eddie condemning the judges in interviews to look gracious was rather spot on.

I never normally quote myself, HONESTLY I DONT, but sometimes if I get something right and it makes me smile I will..

Actually that's proof I don't quote myself because I rarely get anything right.

 

He actually had a lot of success when he closed the gap (up close), tight defence and Lara wasn't moving forwards. That's actually when Lara struggled.

When it was at range is where Lara had success, think a lot of that also down to the fact Warrington had little of his usual darting movement.
