I think it will be a close fight and many fans will favour Avanesyan’s aggressive come forward style over Kelly’s slick countering, but the close rounds will go in favour of Kelly as it’s in the UK.
If it’s a ‘close’ fight, Avanesyan will be lucky to get a round or two on the scorecards. He’s going to have to knock him out to stand a chance.
Agreed! Judges will do him no favours. He will be looking for the ko If it goes to points Kelly will get it IMO
FFS can somebody change the title of this thread - every time I come on here I think the fight is off..lol
Eddie has just tweeted that both fighters have passed the COVID test so the fight is ON. So yeah.... perhaps change the thread title lol
Josh is from my village and I want him to do well, but I think in his last few fights he’s regressed. This is a tough one for him and I think we’ll know after Saturday’s fight whether he’s the real deal.
Seen the interview with Neil Marsh on IFL yesterday and apparently it got a bit spicy in the bubble between the two camps earlier this week.
I picked Avenesyan to beat Kelly back when the fight first got made. I'm not changing my pick but am less confident now. I think the postponements and lay off will be more detrimental to Avenesyan than Kelly. I can see Kelly having made big improvements in the gym under Booth during the all the time in lockdown, he looks in unbelievable shape as well. Still picking Avenesyan to win but I think the gap between them will be shorter now with Kelly improving and Avanesyan already being as good as he's ever going to be. Really interesting fight and really looking forward to it.
This is it for Kelly,if he can't beat this guy it's doubtful he will ever get to world level.i'm going for a close points win for Kelly.Ava is solid but beatable.
