Oscar gassed numerous occassions in 12 round fights. Im not sure oscar would even be a champ in the 15 round days

This is actually closer than it seems, people seem to think that Monzon is far too big, but in reality there is not a huge difference in size as when De La Hoya was weighing in at 147lbs he was coming into the ring at like 160lbs anyway and so was Monzon so I do see Monzon controlling it behind his master left hand and jab and when he has controlled him, throw the odd straight right hand because he could throw it sudden, his right took you by surprise because he threw the the jab quite slow, and the right was actually decent speed, he changed the speed of that jab to confuse so they could time it, I see De La Hoya having some success when Monzon is on the ropes, but ultimately Monzon's jab controls the fight for the majority and he makes De La Hoya fight at Monzon's pace like he did everyone else

No way does Oscar go either 12 or 15 with Monzon.

I think Monzon wins easily, but it's not really a fair comparison. Monzon was an all time great middleweight. He was great in so many ways. DeLaHoya was never a serious middleweight contender. When he moved up, he was soundly beaten by Hopkins. Oscar was most effective as a lightweight and jr welter if you ask me. He was still very good at welter. I think it's fair to think about how he might have done against even some welterweight greats, but one of the greatest middleweight seems way out of the question to me.

RM, I knew instantly of the spirit you intended behind this thread, lol. The wink of your eye gave you away, you, clever rascal you. Anyone with even a cursory knowledge of either Monzon or de la Hoya knows that after 1 or 2 semi competitive rounds, rounds that Monzon usually gave away anyhow, that the fight's direction would radically change and not in a good way at all for Oscar. Monzon would give OHD a cruel beating and stop him in 6 or 7, much like he did Gratien Tonna or Tony Mundine...and with as little trouble. Just another day at the office for the GOAT middleweight champion King Carlos...and it wouldn't be a surprise to anyone, unless you're the usually Monzon-clueless posters, like Mark Ant, possibly his likely clone Devon, or the always hapless and unaware Mendoza maybe.

I am not clueless about Monzon, I have watched loads of his fights, you’re probably giving me stick because I give modern boxers more credit and that is a must not on here

Monzon gives a brtual beating, for Oscar's sake you'd hope it wouldn't last too long.
