No credit it Whyte wins. Covid and old age has reduced The Tsar Bomber in to an aging Lada.

Furys win against Wlad is better than any Whyte win of course but Whyte will have a far deeper resume if he beats Povetkin.

Serious for a second, I doubt he would. Whyte embodies the heavyweight class. Hes a massive roided up tank who loves to smash. Nothing special or clever. Just smash.

It's hilarious that people are taking the COVID thing as the truth. Perhaps it's that they want this to be the case, to further diminish any potential credit Whyte would be due.

It's highly unlikely that Povetkin has been in hospital with COVID.

Povetkin should just pull out of the fight citing depression.

"A date of January 30 was set for the pair to fight against each other after Whyte was defeated in an upset by the 41-year-old Russian during the Fight Camp series in Britain in August. This represents a second postponement after a provisional November date was also scrapped.

Povetkin’s promoter, Andrey Ryabinsky, explained that his fighter is struggling to come back to fitness after contracting COVID-19.

Speaking to Russian news agency TASS, Ryabinsky said: "Sasha had to go to hospital again for examinations. The other day he was discharged and is now starting training."

I'm fully aware that his promoter released a statement. Are you attempting to cite a press release as proof?

Yes but it doesn't erase the fact that he got sparked by a 41 year old.

I think we all know where Whyte stands now. A solid, top 10 heavyweight who's not quite good enough to win a world title but capable of beating anybody outside of the top 2/3 in the division.

Yes, credit is due for every win against a live opponent, especially one that sparked you a few months ago

Having said that, Whyte is basically a Euro level fighter and irrelevant at works title level

Speaking of heavyweights who never got the credit they deserve.

This guy comes up with this devastating K.O. but afterwards has to listen to his team trying to explain to him for 20 minutes why he can't add it to his professional record.

If he gets an early ko then some credit. If he runs and waits for Pov to gas or until the cards (which have already been filled in) then no.

If Pov starches melonhead then he'll get credit for brightening up my day. Again,

Let's try logic as proof instead.

Povetkin is becoming older and slower with every day that passes.

It is to his advantage to fight as soon as possible and in Whyte's advantage to stall the fight out as long as possible.

Yet it is Povetkin's camp that has postponed the fight repeatedly.

Povetkin is going to fight Whyte, now.

Ergo, either Povetkin has an idiotic team, or he was genuinely sick necessitating the postponements.

I'll go with the "he was sick" explanation.

If you can’t get credit for beating one of the best fighters in the division, then I’m at a loss.

Is Povetkin past his best? Yes. Is he still one of the top fighters in the division? Yes.

Yeah a 41 yr old who could spark you me & most on here no doubt, Povetkin is class, always will be, his skills eclipse Whyte by a country mile & imo Whyte was doing OK in the fight but you always felt as though it was painting by numbers & Whyte missed the number ....Povetkin may get beaten next time but Whyte will never ever reach his level as log as he has a hole in his ass...Having said that I admire Whytes heart, he's a genuine fighter...TBH because of all the crap he had to endure with Beyonce 's tantrums & ducking etc I hope he wins & his career takes off, he deserves it!
