This content is protected Just had a little 4 munute rant looking at all the holes in Dillian Whyte hype machine. 1) How he wasn't hard done by for not getting a title shot 2) Eddie Hearn's reasons for giving him such a big push 3) Why I think Wilder would have beaten by KO 4) Why I think Whyte is not even the 3rd best Heavyweight in Britain but in fact the 4th or 5th best. Let me know what you think!
people just talk up whyte. Hs best win was a shot Lucas Browne. Joshua beat his ass to the canvas quite convincingly.. yes Whyte rocked him on his legs momentarily…. Doesn't mean anything if you yourself end up being the one they gotta scrape off the canvas. As i think this was probably one of AJ's most entertaining fights. But ye it was clear AJ was going to win this quite early on. He did what he has been known to do. And that is slug it out with Whyte.. quite successfully. He WAS a decent cotender but thats all gone South now. Another near shot guy half killed him.
Yeah exactly mate another thing I find funny is how everyone says he would beat Wilder. Have these people seen Whyte in action. He's been dropped in 3 of his last 6 fights. He barely scraped past Marousz Each he might have even lost that one. How people rate him as this dangerous contender and serious threat I don't know. If he loses this rematch it may very well be game over!
Well said mate. Apparently that means he beats every other fighter at heavyweight according to Matchroom fanboys!
I think he's overrated but I tend to think all British hws get a little overrated. American hws do too, possibly even worse. He's just not quite skilled enough and doesn't quite have the natural gifts to be a top 5 imo even despite how relatively weak the division is
Yeah I'm not trying to trash him he's tough and game but I have never thought he was in the world top 5. Sky Sports seem to make out he's 4th best Heavyweight in the world as a matter of fact. They only say 4th because they can't get away with saying second after Joshua because even most the casuals aren't daft enough to fall for that one.
Oh yea he’s overrated, I remember I was getting attacked hard on Twitter by so many brits because I was picking Povetkin to beat him. I also got attacked hard recently when I said Joyce has a good chance of stopping him lol. I don’t know how he got so overrated
How the hell is his best win Lucas Browne ? He has wins over Chisora, Parker, and Rivas. But to be real he is overrated. His resume makes him a top 10 but he is no elite like his fans make him out to be, got iced by over the hill Povetkin, makes me laugh to this day
He was overrated, but now he's a bit underrated after getting iced by Povetkin. He's definitely top 10, but that's also partially because heavies aren't that great. You got Fury, AJ, and Wilder at the top, then everyone else. It's not a very competitive landscape at the moment. At least that's how I feel about it right now. Maybe if they fought more often we'd see some real rankings start to shape up.
Lol sorry i forgot about chisora and Rivas. Don't think he really beat parker if you know what i mean...
An overachiever would be a better term. Done well though. Wins over Helenius Wach Brown Parker Chisora and Rivas. Quite a good streak for his technical ability.
I think he's rated about right (most people seem to rate him from #5 to #8 or so). He's a good boxer in a division that has not been real deep in recent years. I did not and do not like his chances against AJ, Wilder and Fury. It surprised me a bit the way Povetkin beat him. I'm interested to see if he can do better in a rematch. Kind of a toss up against Ruiz or Ortiz. That's the way I see it.
