Yeah, curious case too, as his hype train survived many violent derailments and the faithful remained so for an implausibly long time. (thinking he'd have a realistic puncher's chance versus whoever was champ at the time, be it the Klitschko bros, Joshua, Wilder, etc, if just given the chance)
Not really glass jawed, more just defensively - and otherwise - unskilled (you can't get away with being that slow unless you have skills; case in point his conqueror Joyce, who just barely has enough skill to get by despite being down in the same speed gutter), but yes a total hype job.
