Either way, very good signing if Frank can keep him active.

Callum Johnson is elite level.

Gave Beterbiev his toughest fight by a country mile.

Johnson knocks out Yarde and Arthur within 9 rounds.

 

Definitely agree with the last sentence but nowhere near elite. He can punch to his credit but hasn't proved anything beyond domestic level yet and he's mid 30s.

 

Warren would be mad to not make Yarde vs Johnson. Would be a great fight while it lasted

Would be the final nail in Yarde's coffin. My guess is we get get Arthur vs Johnson and Yarde very quietly gets some tune up fights in.

 

Fair play to Johnson. My understanding is Hearn offered him a tune up and then straight in to the Buatsi fight. He was offered good money but Joe felt it was worth more as Buatsi was getting a higher purse despite Callum having fought for world title's etc. I get both sides of the argument but seems strange everyone but Joe's fighters have been fighting on.

My guess is Frank has offered him 3 fights within 12 months, a tune up. The Yarde vs Arthur winner and then a WBO title shot

Johnson is better than Yarde and Arthur imo. Has never been active, is exciting to watch so hopefully he can get a wee run at it. Even outside world title fights he should be able to earn good money fighting Yarde and Arthur. Great Saturday fight night headliners or chief support to Fury.
