Spot on. That’s why I worry about Whyte for example because he thinks Povetkin was just lucky to catch him when it was actually good boxing. If you’re gonna be successful and a true champion you need to accept your weaknesses and work on them, don’t be in denial and play to your own strengths - Manny Steward drilled that in to Klitschko and look what happened.
There’s a big difference between whyte thinking that he got caught with a lucky punch and wilder blaming everything but himself and letting the contract date pass. One is an example of self belief and the other is an example of self delusion, but I personally don’t ever want to see someone who accused their career long trainer of spiking their water fight again.
No one should care what Wilder has to say. He is a person with a low IQ who has made his fame and fortune boxing. Good for him. He couldn't have done it any other way. But why put any weight in what he says? There are a lot of people out there who live in LaLa Land. He is one of them. It's a fill or kill/all or nothing mentality.
