So do I. Being the king of an era - even one that's ****ing dog**** - means something. There's a reason why somebody like Dempsey was lauded.

I was asking what you think is the reason why most have doubts about fighters with weak résumés, but were long reigning chalpsn

To be honest I wouldn't see them as having a weak resume, if they were a long reigning champion in a weak era.

At least not if there had been some sincere effort to defend against qualified challengers.

Now if a fighter just isn't winning the big ones, then that poses questions in my mind.

Just to use the same example again, would you say Bob Foster has a strong résumé then, or at least, one that's not weak?

Aaron Pryor I think should be up there. Outside AA, resume is wafer thin.

Wilfredo Gomez really doesn't have any impressive names on his resume at 122 (except Zarate, but he was moving up in weight)...his longevity as champ is what is impressive, not the specifics of who he beat. Regardless, he's a H2H nightmare vs. anyone at that weight.

Hearns doesn't have an amazing resume at 147, but I'd pick him over anyone not named Sugar Ray.

well the man I mention had a good resume, but before he did Barkley's record was not too great nor with a lot of knockouts and he was tougher head to head than he would show on his record.

On a lower level Freddie Pendleton could certainly fight at a level far higher than his resume indicates. Those familiar with his overall story would know the ins and outs of why.

Very fun fighter too as I recall. Good win for Whitaker.

Bad choice, we're talking overall resumes not resumes within weight classes. Some of yall luuuve to diminsh Mayweather any chance you get. We know Mayweather was great. His skills are proven, as is his chin, stamina, champions heart and longevity in the sport. Hernandez, Cotto, Pacman, De la hoya, and Canelo are and were still VERY good and great fighters when Mayweather fought them. I didn't mention other fighers that he beat. Those are the fighters that can't be questioned. Although I'm sure many still will....lets hear it.

I do not where to start .. but I think you missed my point ... Real quick here for example. the Pac fight was for 2010 , not 2015 .. If that makes sense to you ... Anyway, I do not diminish May, more , call it like I see it .. Maybe you think he is the GOAT because he has the most bling and party's on the Vegas strip

I've seen the fights with Lopez, Whitaker and Ruelas. Is there any others I should catch, John?

    Gennady Golovkin

Is a pretty hard fight for every middleweight in history that he doesn't favorably beat.
