Salvador Sanchez vs Manny Paquaio, at 126 lbs, both prime, 15 rounds. Salvador has faced very tough challengers in his title reign from 1980- 1982, would Manny be too quick for him? Or would Sanchez outbox Manny over the distance?

Great fight. Couldn't pick a winner. Could see early Pac by KO. COULD see Sanchez by stoppage. Even fight. All I will say is it is hard to pick against Sanchez, but Pac to me is one of the top fighters in history. The rarest of the rare. After all that just for me to say, "I don't know."

I'm sure some people rank Sanchez above Pacquiao.. but I don't. Manny is right there with Henry Armstrong. A whirlwind of punches but 10X better than your average brawler. He would connect on Sanchez.. a lot. Could Sanchez take that left cross that would land every round? Over and over. I think he would underrate Manny.. until it's too late.

Let's have a look at Pacquiao vs Morales and Barerra
    and Sanchez vs Nelson

I would make Manny the narrow favorite over 12...over 15? Not sure perhaps 50/50.

I do think Manny would be favored and I would expect him to win...but this is the same weight where he drew w/Marquez (I felt like Marquez won) and lost to Morales. I don’t think it is unreasonable to see Sanchez topping those performances and earning the win.

close fight, narrow for Pac IMO

I think that Salvador Sanchez takes this one by unanimous decision in 15 rounds. Salvador has taken the bombs of Danny Little Red Lopez, Wilfredo Bazooka Gomez, and Azumah Nelson, therefore has an iron chin, which Manny does not, he has been kayoed before. Manny does possess speed but if you cannot hit your opponent, what good does it do. Salvador would use his left jab to set up his counters, and crashing home right hands to the head of Paquaio, when he gets ready to fire blows of his own, Sanchez was not a stationary fighter, he utilized lateral movement and had unending stamina, as he was always in great condition, always prepared.. He always studied his opponents in the ring first, then used the appropriate strategy.

Sanchez was a stamina iron man.. but no way could he handle Manny's speed. No way. Not with that freak power behind it. Manny has the legs to see him through it (and up to much higher weights). It's way past time for classic boxing to appreciate Manny Pacquiao.

??? Classic has been pretty high on Pac for years now. He might be the only fighter of the last 20 years that consistently gets his props.

'Sorry for the abrupt reply.. but I'm talking about Pacquiao/Armstrong type level. You may as well say Sanchez vs Armstrong.. is the same picture.

But Manny is still fighting, by the way.

Sanchez handles Pac the way JMM did in the first fight from rounds 2-11...and doesn't get dropped three times in the first.

    Sanchez UD.

This, for me. I'm actually a little surprised there's so much debate about it. I suppose somebody arguing for Pac could say that Escobar dropped Sanchez and was a southpaw, but that's a pretty loose connection IMO.

This is an incredible match up. Paq’s speed and power are unlike anything Sanchez faced, far tougher than the legendary but limited Lopez or the overconfident, under prepared Gomez or the novice Nelson. I very slightly edge Paq , maybe, but he’d have to fight a very clever fight or the iron chinned Sanchez could trap him like JMM did. Even as I type my opinion shifts. What a match up.
