Josh Kelly brutally exposed- what does he need to do next?

I think Kelly will always fall short at world level. In saying that for Booth to say he us the most talented fighter he is trained is a massive misjudgment. Booth is still a top trainer though. In saying that Jelly has several key weaknesses that have never been ironed out. He could do worse than see if Peter Fury would train him. In my opinion the best coach in the UK.

 

As well as the technical improvements, he really needs to sort his stamina out.

I thought it looked pretty clear that he just doesn't have a good enough aerobic base, so he just got weaker and weaker alarmingly fast.

I like him, and I still think he's got potential, but they'll need to seriously overhaul some stuff.

 

Adam Booth has always struck me as being utterly convinced that he's got one of those special talents on his hands in Josh Kelly who only needs a few fights before going for a world title. Well that is clearly not the case lol. Him and Conor Benn would probably be 50/50.

 

For all his faults, he most certainly isn't a nobody

 

1.Stop thinking he’s already the best boxer ever to have lived.
2.Get his coach to stop thinking the same. 3.Change his coach. Someone who’s basic straight talking not someone who thinks he’s got a Master Of Arts in the science of boxing.
4.Go back to basics.
5. Work out what weight he’s best at.

Potentially he could still make it IMO but he’s a long way away at the moment.

 

Klopp has won a champs league and a prem title in consecutive seasons.

 

He could have been an ATG but lacked fundamentals.

 

I think he could do with some American camps top class sparring. Sparring fighters who can pressure him intensely as he needs to learn a lot.

 

He needs everyone around him to treat him like a fighter rather than looking at him with open mouth at his flashy hand speed. First and foremost he needs to move up in weight to 154lbs. Adam booth is a good trainer so nothing wrong there I just feel he needs to work solidly on his weight and cardio. Not having fanboys around him saying how sharp he looks. Loads of fighters can look that fast and sharp. Needs to look at what pro boxing is

 

Whilst I'm not disagreeing the same could be said about 99% of boxers that never reached ATG status.

Khan was game, exciting to watch and never in a dull fight, he was better than Kelly is and better than Kelly ever will be, last night was his ceiling.

 

If Peter was the best coach Tyson would be still be with him also if you know Peter you will know he’s not a straight member of the public he pretends to be reformed which of course he’s not so why would you recommend anyone to go to a person like him is beyond me
