The same fight you watched. What I mean by 'same speed' here is in general, not the fight. Of course, Valdez punched faster than Berchelt in that fight. He outpunched and outlanded Berchelt. The difference is, Valdez punched and moved at his standard speed, while Berchelt did not.
I'm not saying he fought ugly or cowardly if that's what you mean. I made myself not clear enough that I was praising Valdez's defense and his strategy to keep the range between them and evaded Berchelt's punches. And yes, Valdez was quicker in that match. Because Berchelt is much slower than usual.
Mexican media is blaming Covid! That he didn’t look the same because he never fully recovered of Covid ect...
Berchelt looked bad last night. He was stumbling around the ring like a Frankenstein monster. Easy work for Valdez.
He looked slower and less sharp than I've seen him in the past. Maybe Valdez's speed and explosiveness threw off his timing and made him a lot more hesitant to commit early on. It was also annoying to see his "tell" over and over. His guard was higher than where he shot his lead hand from. He dropped that left hand ever so slightly right before he pumped out the jab.
