Oliver *Atomic Bull *gets a shot at Tyson in Tokyo, after Buster pulls out due to personal family reasons. Tyson has only a few weeks to adapt to the change of opponent if he takes Mccall seriously at all anyway. So, the question begs, Can Oliver Mccall the sparring partner beat his boss at possibly Tyson s worst?
Very interesting question. Undecided as of now. Tyson was a mess mentally so it's certainly possible. Also Tyson wouldn't have had to adapt to a different opponent seeing as he didn't really train for Douglas's style. He thought Douglas was going to go in the first, maybe the 2nd like the good majority of his opponents prior.
Tyson wasn't even close to his worst vs Douglas IMO. Actually, I think he was pretty close to his best. But nah, McCall doesn't beaten verison of Tyson from the 80s or 90s.
Yes. Mike Tyson would have lost to a lot of heavyweights you wouldn’t suspect of beating him on that night in Tokyo. McCall would take all of Mike’s best shots before inevitably taking out an exhausted Tyson in the later rounds. McCall would probably have his mental breakdown a couple years earlier in this case too after the fight, and Holyfield winds up with the title one fight later.
Thank s Swag! I'm intrigued myself in how Tyson deals with certain oppenents in the Tokyo Dome in 1990. Some would probably have been beaten early by Tyson, scared sheetless as per. Some fight like Tucker, doing alright but never pushing it. Mccall wasn't doing bad at that time period, yes he lost to Buster, but least he saw the end. It's interesting to think tht Mccall could actually see a chink in Tyson Armour and go for it? What's he to lose and not as if his chin let's him down!

Possible, but not probable. Tyson would know exactly what he was facing with McCall, who didn't have the boxing ability that Douglas displayed on that night, and iron as the Atomic Bull's chin was, I see Tyson landing on it, a lot in this one. It'd probably be a showing that would display Tyson's declining form, but he gets away with a win.
I do not think it has to do with Mike Tyson being past his prime, at 23 years of age? That is absurd, at 23 most fighters are growing into their peak years. At 23, most men are sewing their oats so to speak, Mike in Tokyo on Feb 11 1990 was sewing his, courtesy of the street walkers. Oliver McCall was a devastating puncher, Lennox Lewis would find this out later. Mike would have entered this hypothetical match with sleep depravation on his person. He would go through the motions, soon to find out that Oliver is not going away without the title. The match would drag on into the later rounds until McCall lands one of his Atomic right hands to the jaw of the sleep deprived Tyson in round 9, sending him to the canvas for the full ten count.. Maybe Mike for all his great talent did not want to be a champion anymore, only Mike knows the answer to that question.
I don’t think he could mate. There was a will in Douglas that night that very few fighters possess, even normal Douglas never had that will. A performance that Douglas can be very proud of. He dug down deep, something that he could never do again. Tyson would’ve destroyed him in the rematch, it would never of been that Douglas again. No way MCCall fights with that determination like Douglas did
Possibly. Though Tyson was pretty used to him being sparring partners. That and McCall didn’t have Douglas’ boxing style
