Arum said this fight is a possibility if the Pacquiao/Porter fights don't come through and Ortiz shines against Hooker. Ortiz Jr. is like 5' 11" and hits like a mack truck. But Crawford also hits hard, experienced, and is slick and slippery. I think it's a great fight. I'm going w/ Ortiz by shock KO.
Nobody in the top 6 at WW is gonna give Ortiz or Ennis a shot to make a name off of them. They are both very big for the weight class and won’t get a title shot until these guys retire or move up..
Thurman, Porter, Spence, Danny, and Crawford are all in their physical primes. Wouldn't be a passing of the torch type set up for any of them.
Yes you are correct but the biggest of that bunch is Spence and he’s 5’9. Ennis and Ortiz are both easily 5’11 with a thick build. I’m not saying they’ll win but none of them would want to be the one to possibly lose against someone still considered a prospect. It’s the same reason Porter, Thurman and Danny didn’t give Errol a shot 5 years ago when he was 14-0. None of the top guys wants to be put in the position Loma is in after the Teo fight.
Ortiz isn't ready for 1-5 in the division yet. I believe 6-10 he's almost at that point where his team should go ahead and pull the trigger on trying to make those fights happen. I still have a few questions about him, but I think he's the real deal.
Crawford for the next year or so. After that, Ortiz. Why? Because, Crawford is 33 year's and six months old. He is at the end of his prime year's.
Crawford hasn't taken punishment nor has he logged a ton of fights. I'd say Crawford can be prime for 2-4 more years.
I think Ortiz would be very vulnerable against Crawford. To me, there's a big difference in class. I'd say Crawford stops him.
