Calling all Pacquiao-Haters!!!: I ask, why?

if ya ask me mayweathers fans are way worse!!!

 

the guy gets alot of haters from boxing fans who thought he was 1-dimensional or that he was a loss waiting to happen but were proven wrong and then it was rubbed in by the Pac fans so it made things worse.

I actually became a fan of Pac when some time ago i saw that he was a really amazing fighter but most people were labelling him as "exciting but not very good" and then i ended up defending him so much that I eventually became a huge fan. Most of the guys I was debating have now seen the light, but some of them are just bitter that they were wrong about Pac and are now haters.

You can't have it both ways. Every superstar in the sport will have fans and critics.(I usually don't use haters as some guys don't really hate a certain boxer, they are just not sold on him)

If you've been here long enough, ESB had a lot of that. From DLH, to PBF, to Klitschko brothers etc etc. It just so happens that Pac has a lot of well, nuthuggers, that even a few of us that are resonable carries a burden as a Pac fan.

It was not unreasonable to say Douglas had no chance at the time of his win. Being disrespectful IMO is when you step past the boundaries of reasonable analysis (when we are talking about predicting fights) and draw a conclusion that disparages the other fighter and the attributes and accomplishments he has to do so (IE, not giving the fighter full credit for them to make your analysis stand up). Douglas had shown nothing coming into that fight that would lead anyone to believe that he had a shot at Tyson. It was just the conclusion to what would be considered reasonable analysis at the time. What's considered reasonable? You look at the facts and the things that each boxer has done in the ring and come to a conclusion.

It's not unreasonable to say Pacquiao has no shot at Mayweather. Why? Because Mayweather is still two full weight classes over Pacquiao's highest weight (a full 5 weight classes over Pacquiao's original full grown man weight), one he has only had one fight in against a fighter that is probably a B- level fighter. Diaz himself said he could handle Pacquiao's power, it was his speed that bothered him. Pacquiao would not have a speed advantage on Mayweather. We also know Mayweather can take a punch having been hit flush by big punchers. Pacquiao has little chance of hurting him, no chance of outboxing him since Mayweather is vastly superior in skill. We also know that Pacquiao has trouble with skilled counter punchers. Mayweather is one of the best, and much bigger and taller than Pacquiao to boot. He hits much harder than JMM and is much faster as well. All of this leads to the conclusion that Pacquiao has no advantages coming into the fight, and its not unreasonable to conclude he has no chance against him. Therefore not disrespectful.

Now if I said that Pacquiao had no chance against Guzman, I could see where you're coming from.

 

You also said that Pac has no Chance against Hatton. Look around now?? A lot of people giving Pac a very good Chance.

And you can't use a fight that hasn't happened yet to try and show that I am inconsistant in my analysis. That's common sense. If you used a fight I was wrong about and I said the winner had no shot, then that would be useful to your cause.

I also don't recall saying Pacquiao has no chance. I recall picking against him based on the evidence in front of me. They are not the same thing.

 

You forgot pacamaniacs- people who love Pacquiao and dont know anything about boxing except Pacquiao.
