Why is Canelo not getting more criticism for fighting Yildrim?

I prefer the guy who stays active and is careful with his matchmaking over the other belt holders who are just careful with their matchmaking.

 

Yildirim is his mandatory so he is getting it out of the way.

 

Canelo could fight a ham sandwich and his fans would pay to see it. This fight is a prime example.

 

I don't even get why, are mexicans that dumb or do they just want to hype anything they can at this point? Canelo has the charisma of Joe Biden

 

His resume is arguably the best of all active boxers - regardless of decision and all that. He's got in there with the people. Look at his last 5 fights. This is a mando, already has BJS lined up which I think will be cracking geezer is not only fight quality opposition but is doing to regularly. No complaints from me.

Kovalev... Short training camp for Kov Even Kov himself laughed at people who expected him to win.
Smith ... Ok but no one thought he'd beat Canelo
Canelo can fight no two ways about it BUT Without the NSAC, Vegas boxing officials obvious backing he is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is

 

He's gotten plenty of crap for this fight

 

Canelo is more popular in the US than in Mexico. The great Mexican fight fans havent forgiven him for the cowardly ducking & meekly handing back the bogus WBC belt. They disowned him & named him El Pollo Rojo if you remember

Canelo normally fights in May and September. If he decides to take a 3rd fight in February then I don't really care if it's a poor matchup or not. I just won't be very interested in it.

If he's active like this, then a mandatory getting out of the way isn't a big deal. Personally, I prefer guys active, even if it's just a 'stay busy' gimme. Keeps fighters sharp.
