Oh absolutely! Parker needs to change what he's doing, as it's hurting his international reputation. I hate to agree with those who are still spiteful of the Barry/Tua relationship, but a lot of that comes down to Barry too. For someone who was fighting to align himself with a world title shot, Fa was abysmal in my opinion. When he actually threw, he looked better than I expected. His performance against Gunn was a reality check and I think that played a part. Don't get me wrong, I love that two South Auckland lads put on a fight to represent our country...but, when it's all said and done, both will be disappointed in their performances. You're right though - Fa would have considered it a 'win' for going 12 rounds.
Fa will get some more paydays out of this Parker has been hurt by it - but Chisora is next and ought to be a much better spectacle
Probably will. Looks like the guy has a massive ego. And his next fight is likely to be his second best purse of his career. Plus Fa has a high ranking with the WBO. They can easily push him into a big fight again.
Fa is a flipping disgrace. The amount of clinching he did is indicative of either an extremely bad game plan or a guy petrified of any close action work. A more seasoned, less polite boxer than Parker would have headbutted and low blowed the hell out of him with the crap Fa was pulling. Never seeing this turd again would be an improvement to world boxing.
Give me a Fa vs Makhmudov rematch from the amateur days. Makhmudov would bully him on the inside and uppercut him out of the ring.
Yep - they both looked bad in the end. But at least Parker has the Chisora fight to set things on a better path....
