I domt understand why you hate him, well actually I do dominated the sport in 3 different decades and never took a L or even dropped for that matter. If I was a pbf hater I'd be mad to. Im a fan because I can appreciate a once in a generation talent like Floyd mayweather Jr. He was the closest to a complete fighter as I've ever seen. No real weaknesses fast hands quick reflexes great jab great defense fast feet great footwork could fight at all ranges master counter puncher accurate unmatched ring iq good chin stamina and one of the most mentally tough fighters you'll ever see in a boxing ring. His lack of power at the higher weights could be seen as a weakness but then again he punched hard enough to get your respect. He had the uncanny ability to shut good to great boxers down and make them look average for the most part. A master boxer who would be great in any era.
Yeah I can pbf was declined when he fought canelo he was not prime. His last prime fight was against jmm in 2009 every since that fight there was a gradual decline in his ability.
Boxers retire for various reasons. Could have been sick of the sport. Could have made enough money and was happy with his career. Could have seen he was declining. Could have said im 32 and didn't want to rebuild. Who knows?
Different weight classes. Mayweather was in his prime and a beast at 135, and 147. Canelo is in his prime and a beast at 160.
Again, that is Fury in you avatar. That got banned for using PEDs. Might be a good thing to keep that in mind.
At 154 against the Floyd that beat DLH? At that weight I might favour Floyd since Canelo would have a hard time making 154 now, I think. At 168 he walks Floyd down, would be my guess.
You're a bitter excuse maker. The win isn't tainted it was a great win. He took Canelo's 0 at 36 while being faded.
Lol you are just as bad as the Pac fans who see him as some kind of super hero. Mayweather was great but he wasn’t perfect he did cherry pick and play weight games.
Canelo is pretty stiff but he's powerful. You have to remember that Canelo chose to box Mayweather. That was not a good idea. Had he tried to steamroll him, it could have gotten interesting. Maidana gave Floyd huge problems and he wasn't half as good as Canelo. I still think Floyd wins because I don't think Canelo is very good vs movers.
You put the Canelo from the Cotto fight against the Floyd who fought Canelo, I think Canelo would beat that older smaller version of Money May. I think those 2 added years of experience would have done Canelo good. I also don't think Canelo was green, but he lacked big fight experience.
The guy was prime he had just beat trout (who had just had a easy win against cotto) and was champion of the division he went on to beat the oh so great Lara less than a year after Mayweather himself was way out of his prime only thing about Canelo he wasn't juiced to the gills back then
If they could both compete in the same weight class, Mayweather still wins. He's just stylistically superior to Canelo and still has more experience given he beat stiffer competition and in style. For example, it took Canelo 11 rounds.....11 rounds to crack Plants philly shell and Plant was an amateur at using it. Canelo would have no chance of cracking Mayweathers philly shell. Explosive counters is where Canelo specializes, but its pretty useless against opponents who don't take the bait or those who never sit still to be hit by counters. Mayweather has those two characteristics in spades. He'll run around the ring all day and take pot shots. Of course the biggest elephant in the room is stamina. Mayweather is a stamina monster. He knows exactly how to pace himself to where he pretty much doesn't run out of stamina. Canelo's biggest weakness is his stamina. He's pretty much finished after 6 rounds or so. I still don't see Canelo winning. He would do better, but not by much as whatever new advantage he'd have gained would be limited by his recent decline in stamina.
A prime Alvarez is an average sized middleweight so he might perform even worse getting down to 154 which is where they'd rightfully meet halfway. Floyds already a small to average sized welterweight. I think he can win three or four rounds with more experience but boiling down when he needs to be much more aggressive idk.
He's not my favorite but he was an excellent fighter. Excellent. The nitpicking hate that he gets is all garbage to fans that clearly see his brilliance.
