Did not realize Wallin stunned him. Add that to the list, and it's getting long. I think Joshua, if Fury agreed to fight as he's making excuse already will knock him out
Good question. Durability has to fo with being stunned and down. My point medium level punchers have done the trick multiple times and people who really can't box well have done the trick. Both that and the punch stats landed show his defense is not all that. When he faces a guy with skills who can punch, he's a goner. Had the 1st Wilder fight bee 15 rounds, I think he's a TKO victim. Fury has shown the will power to get up v the medium level skills guys and medium level punchers just like he has shown multiple times he can be hurt and floored by them. No way he has a good chin, which examines many of his cherry picked opponents. Once Joshua lands his best, he's pretty much going to stop you. If Fury really had a good chin, like grade B+ or better none of this stuff happens!
Fury is getting destroyed. Got with Grampa Simpson, the old Jewish man down the lane. He’s placed “The Sheeny Curse” on Fury. It makes him unathletic and weak. Put your money on AJ. It’s guaranteed to work.
Threads like this make me LOL Pointing out when fighters got hurt in certain fights or struggled with a lesser opponent. It is boxing and these guys are human and will not fight perfectly every single fight and the more fights you have the more chance you will get hurt.
The think is Lewis, Vitali, Holyfield, Tyson, whomever ever would not floored or stunned by fighters of this caliber who had medium at best level power. Fury was.
He's average durability chin-wise but he does have good recovery skills. I really think that if he allows Joshua to hit him solidly with any right cross/uppercut/left hook combo he's in trouble. Joshua is the best heavyweight combination puncher around today and it's landing 2 or 3 hard punches in sucession that get guys with great recovery out of there. If Joshua floors Fury it's all over. I really don't think Fury is anything special in an ATG sense. Lewis, Foreman, Liston, Vitali, prime Wlad would all have battered seven shades of **** outa him.
I was at the Cunningham fight and I was not impressed. Took a lot for Fury to win me over. I always knew Wilder was a fraud. Howe er he can punch and Fury clowned him twice. Fury doesn’t have a great chin but he does have a good one and he has great recovery powers like Holmes. Should be good match. Joshua is really good. And being sold short. A win by him would not surprise me but I think Fury takes him
His chin is really strong and that’s not really debatable imo. I’ve always seen getting floored and rocked as just something that happens in boxing, especially at heavyweight. Unless he was consistently showing chin issues in every fight I don’t think we can call it weak. I’m an AJ fan but it’s safe to say his chin is way more shaky than Fury’s
Is that durability or chin? I think durability is about taking punishment over several rounds and not quitting and still fighting back
Well he did he up from the man who is touted as "hardest puncher in history". Twice. Durability includes overall chin, recovery, endurance etc. So yes he's very durable he can survive a lot of punishment. I need to see his performance against Joshua before I give him any grade.
A few things. 1. Fury walked on to the punches by Cunningham and Paj, through fooling around and carelessness. He took them flush on the face, coming forward. 2. When shorter guys fought him they considered him a giant and were throwing haymakers they wouldn't normally try, out of desperation. The shots by Cunningham and Pay were full blown hail mary swings. So yes, they were powerful, despite the KO records of these guys. Cunningham was in an eliminator there, so don't act like he was in bad form. Some of his losses were close UDs to champion fighters. And a 210lb ripped cruiser like Cunningham has more muscle mass than Andy Ruiz and other fat HWs. 3. McDerm fight was extremely early. Fury was 21 and McDerm pushed Danny Williams, he was good level, also a big guy, so Fury showed a pretty good chin getting hit so much. You forget brawl fights like Chisora I and Joey Abel, where Fury took many flush shots to no real effect. Abel was on a KO streak for a while, he can punch. Wlad also hit Fury with flush RH's and some hooks. Fury even showed a good chin versus Wallin, who landed a lot of shots and is a 6'4 ish fighter. He nailed Fury clean in the final round a number of times when Fury couldn't see, and couldn't put him down. For all the evidence of Fury's apparently poor chin, there is counter evidence showing he can take punishment. But the biggest clue his chin must be quite good is the fact he fought the two biggest HW punchers in recent history, took their best shots, and wasn't KO'd.
Hmmm, are you trying to make a case Fury is easier to hit? Sounds that way to me and its a reason I think Joshua will drill him. Not buying it, Cunningham, Pac, Fritha, Wallin and others are not big punchers who stunned and floored Fury do not compare to Andy Ruiz Jr in power, not that Ruiz has big time power. Just some, more than the guys who floored Fury Wilder does, but he barely connected sn when he did had him out for a few seconds. Fury came too in time in the last round, and stayed away.
