Saturday at Wembley, co-main event on the Cheeseman vs. Metcalf show on Sky. At stake will be the WBO Global title, in Kongo's first defense since knocking out Luthando Nqobile Mtimkulu (aka Luther Clay) for it on the Whyte vs. Povetkin undercard. Both are coming off career best showings, with the aforementioned mild Clay upset in August for Kongo and then a dominant shutout (+3 KD's) for McKinson over fellow unbeaten Martin Harkin a couple of months later.
Given the recent misadventures of Kell Brook and Josh Kelly, would the winner of this be the hottest thing going in GB at welter - or would that still require the beating of Benn? (and/or the Jenkins vs. Essuman winner for the Commonwealth?)
Is this card still happening? Or isn't it being moved to the Povetkin Whyte card in Gibraltar? Benn won't fight the winner of this fight anyway. I think Kongo wins a close points decision.
Never seen McKinson fight but Kongo is a poor man Bradley Skeete, Conor Benn would KO him within 6 rounds
