he posted this on IG the other day. I wouldn't mind him coming back for 2 fight, even with a canelo fight. This content is protected
I think even if he beat Canelo he would lose the decision. He should only do the fight if he thinks the money is worth losing his 0.
I think age caught up with him. He had struggled with injuries for many, many years. Plus the two Kovalev fights were pretty hard, both mentally and physically. And I don´t mean that old age caught him, it´s just that he had been boxing full time since he was a kid. And? The man had not lost a fight since god knows when. Won Olympic gold, won multiple championships and the S6. And he thought about moving to HW. What´s so stupid about him thinking he could beat Wlad? Ward had a better shot than guys like Pianeta, Leapai and Mormeck.
Ward would dominate Canelo. Silly fight imo. But I obviously would like to see him return to fight Beterbiev after two tuneups. But supposedly he retired because he felt he couldnt continue to be at his best, with his injuries. So if thats still the case, then probably best he stay retired, unfortunately.
Easily he'd make more. I just think it depends on if he feels he really needs more than that. For as accomplished a fighter he is, it's a bit of a pity he's only been paid so much. However given that most boxers never reach that pinnacle and retire broke and battered, he doesn't really have anything to worry about if he manages his money correctly. As far as legacy he retired p4p # 1 and undefeated, not much else to accomplish. For me I'd move on into the next phase of my life and see how I could use that money to start a business or invest in the stock market. Enjoy my time with friends and family. However that is me and boxers have many reasons to return into the game.
''Lil G'' probably earned more for 10 minutes work against Stevie ''Jelly'' Rolls than Dre did against Kovalev I & II, Kessler, Froch, Dawson, and Abraham combined and the tax man would've taken a huge wedge out of that too
