    yes that is correct and It is that simple.
    what some people on here are insinuating is that every pro, amateur and their trainers over the last 50 years or so were too stupid to see it doesnt have a purpose but continued to use it anyway, but some people on here are the enlightened ones who know for a fact it doesnt do anything.

    It's a punching motion and its typically above he head so it should provide some exercising of the muscles to keep ones hands up.

    It works as much as weight lifting or doing sit ups.

    It is exercise so I don't see what the problem is.

    What type of exercise apart from boxing do you think helps with boxing?
