Hes not even the greatest or best Mexican of his era. Can we get a round of applause for Juan Francisco Estrada???
round of applause for what lol? Hearn and judges helped him steal the win lmao.. his reward is he's gonna get knocked out cold by the thai fighter hopefully.
yep beat once and lost to him once.. and hes also been shopworn and in wars since the 2nd fight so i favour the thai.
He has been in some scraps. However, styles make fights. If he fights Rungvisai a third time, I think he goes up 2-1.
Rungvisai's team should have been fired. Why was he fighting orthodox for so long in the rematch? When he switched back southpaw, Rungvisai instantly started having success.
Floyd Mayweather ranks Canelo as the GOAT Latino, Canelo has to keep on winning avenging losses is overrated
I don't know. He's not as accomplished as Canelo (even without Canelo's gifts), is now dining out on stolen accolades and I'm not even all that impressed with Alvarez. Mexico is suffering a dearth of candidates to fill the shoes of Morales, the Marquez' and Barrera right now. Tough acts to follow admittedly, but currently nobody (including Canelo) has the poop to be compared to those guys and the greats that preceded them if you ask me.
Estrada is carrying on in their footsteps. The quartet of Rungvisai, Cuadras, Gonzalez and Estrada is the highest level fighting between a group of 3-4 fighters of this era. I'm not saying Estrada was involved in the highest level fight this era. That was clearly the first Kovalev Ward fight. I'm saying the quartet of Estrada, Gonzalez, Cuadras and Rungvisai have delivered the highest level, most entertaining fights of the era among a group of fighters in and around the same weight class.
What happened to boxing? It's in the worst state ever. No fights at all, the cash cow is a mediocre ginger, who can't win without shananigans. Ever this message board is almost dead.
That's a crappy attitude to have, how about you lighten up instead of being such a negative nancy? People who use the term ginger have deep seeded identity issues. Describing Canelo as mediocre shows you are a poor judge of talent. Covid restrictions and lockdowns have obviously taken its toll on life, so I think given what has happened to the world in the last year, there's a tendency for people to become depressed and portray a doom and gloom mentality. But you need to maintain your composure with everything that has gone on. Boxing is truly the one sport that hasn't become a complete laughingstock like most other sports. Boxing still persists, I can tell you that boxing is the one thing that I still take seriously, after many of my other favorite sports have become jokes, at least there is still boxing. Posting on this forum about boxing has helped me cope through Covid and the lockdowns. Even though we have been hit hard over this last year due to Covid and all the BS that came with it, we still need to fight to rebuild our world, and focusing on boxing is a big part of that for many of us. I suggest you shake out of your doom and gloom mindset and look to boxing as an outlet that we have something to look forward to.
You know, I ***** alot about the divas that are currently gumming up the works, but even so, last night was a good fight with 2 fighters that clearly gave of their best. It's the fighters that always come through even if it's not the biggest marquee guys and even if the officiating screws the pooch. That's why it pays to be a boxing nerd and hang around places like this. Here you're usually gonna' get a tip off on where to find the needle in the haystack. The two guys that have been training their ass off, that are committed to going all in and leaving it all in the ring. It is uplifting to see those guys at their work. Inspiring. A good distraction from the current bull**** that is both distressing and depressing. Boxing will outlast all this bull**** and we'll still be here chopping it up. Good post, friend.
It certainly highlights how silly the talk is about Canelo being Mexico's greatest. Consider how much more competitive 115 is than 168. Gonzalez, Estrada and Ioka are all top ten P4P.
