Norris by wide decision. Possible stoppage in Norris' favor

I just wonder if Norris would fall face first or backwards.

This is a very difficult match-up.

Norris' style is a bad mesh for Tito. He would beat Trinidad to the punch for most of the time. Norris has the ability to really whip Tito's ass. Trinidad's power would be terrible for Terry if he connects.

Trinidad was tamed by Oscar, Hopkins, and Wright; and Norris would have a bit more firepower than De la Hoya and Winky. One thing that Norris doesn't have that the aforementioned do is a good chin, so he will remain a threat until it is over. Trinidad has shown that he is willing to take the initiative if you let him off the hook.

I'll take Norris by decision. Trinidad's power keeps Terry from applying enough pressure for a stoppage.

Oscar completely ran the last 4 rounds against Tito. He gave away the last 4 rounds. That's no way to win a championship. Therefore, Tito never lost under 160 lbs. Norris was stopped 4 times in his career. He would be a little more willing to trade with Tito than Oscar was. He also tended to keep his hands down and his chin up. That's a bad combination against Tito and would eventually catch up with him.

Norris would outbox Tito for long stretches, hurt him a few times, and put him on the canvas. Then Tito would get up, walk Norris down, and catch him with the left hook, ending the fight.

Trinidad could be hurt by guys who hit as hard as Norris and he could be outboxed by guys as skilled as Norris, but Tito always got up (except against Hopkins), and he would certainly catch Norris at some point of the fight, and Norris was not the kind of guy who could take a clean shot from a puncher like Trinidad, especially one who was as fast and skilled a finisher as Tito was.

    Tito in 8.

I could envision Tito being dropped once or even twice, but Tito DOES get back up!

Then once Tito is in his rythmn he catches Norris and finishes him.

Who says Terry would fall? I see him getting by with little problem.

With Norris' chin, and Trinidad's power, this fight is always one punch away from being over. That said...

Trinidad never defeated anyone of Norris' caliber. Whitaker was past his best. Oscar should have got the decision over Trinidad in they eyes of most. He lost to Wright, Hopkins, and Jones. Trinidad has a good resume, but he lost when he took on the elite.

Trinidad proved he belonged in the elite class with victories over Blocker, Carr, Reid, Vargas, Joppy, and Mayorga. He just showed he was lower elite when matched against the best.

Norris was a very skilled guy with a suspect chin. Like I said, he had a tendency to keep his chin up and his hands down when in flurries. He relied heavily on his physical gifts but was lacking in technique (defensively). He had heart and he was combative, which I believe would lead to his downfall against Trinidad. I don't recall seeing him fight the extremely disciplined fight it would take to defeat Tito. I don't place much value in his win over Leonard. Leonard was a victim of his own hubris, thinking he could make a hobby of fighting every once in awhile well past his prime against qualtiy opposition.

I got no problems with you picking Trinidad. Norris could be ko'd, and Trinidad hit more than hard enough to do it.

I think that Norris would win for the same reason you think he would lose, his offense. Norris' punches are not only faster, they were shorter. It is because of Norris' speed and willingness to let his hands go that he would beat Trinidad to the punch all fight long.

Tito had trouble with lateral movement. He wasn't a great defensive fighter but he was pretty disciplined in keeping his guard up and his elbows tucked. I don't think Norris decisioning Tito is outlandish, I just think Tito would get to him at some point. It's a very interesting matchup.
