I believe Lewis beats Joshua H2H. But that version of Lewis that stepped in against Vitaly was ready for the taking. He lacked the endurance the sharpness that we usually see from Lennox. The 2017 version of Joshua was still a confident fighter whose instinct was to engage and not retreat and pick his spots. I think he would outgun Lewis in about 9 rounds. Joshua TKO9.
Very debatable. I think Joshua will go down as a better heavyweight than Vitali, he might have already acheived more.
Lennox in 6-7 rds . Joshua is a great bloke and decent fighter but hasn’t got anything on his record to compare with Lennox
I feel like people are matching Joshua with a prime or near prime version of Lewis, rather than the there for the taking Lewis that Vitali fought. I think a Prime Lewis was a much better fighter than Joshua, but in this case it's a near prime Joshua with a not prime very unfocused Lewis, I think it'd be close, I think Lewis could well win, but I'd lean towards Joshua.
Vitali was not a better boxer than Joshua. Joshua clearly has better command of the fundamentals than Vitali did. . Joshua has better punch selection and is far better combination puncher. He is more accurate and has higher ring IQ. He can adapt and execute different gameplans. Vitali couldn't land a solid glove on Kevin Johnson. AJ ran through Johnson like he was nothing becaue he had the angles and varation to open Johnson up and take him out.. Vitali didn't didn't have a clue what to do with Johnson. The proof is right here This content is protected
Well, You’d pick chuck Wepner to beat the kilts, so I’d say your perspective needs to be taken with a grain of salt. And how old was Vitali when he fought Johnson again ?
You were simply wrong in what you said and thats all there is too it. Vitali lost only 8 rounds in his career yeah? Joshua would have lost zero. There is no way a 200 pound Chris Byrd who got off the sofa on a weeks notice is beating a well prepared Joshua. What AJ did to Johnson shows you exactly what he would have done to Vitali's resume. If AJ fought Vitali's opponent selection he would look like the second coming of Mike Tyson This content is protected Furthermore , AJ has already surpassed Vitali. Better accomplishment and a better resume. Not to mention he avenged his only loss , unlike Vitali Quite possible he beats Fury too and become the greatest HW since Lennox Lewis. Either way winner of that fight will go down in history as one of the greats
Worked for his size and for what he is Most adopt a technique or style that fits physical attributes and strengths Muhammad Ali who I consider #1 at heavyweight didn't do everything correct by the book yet he reached an unparalleled status ... Vitali has a garbage resume though
Difference is Ali beat around 20 guys ranked on the all time great list. . Vitali's best win is Sam Peter. 6 foot Eddie Chambers can also claim Peters as his best win. Ali didn't do any do everything by the book but he still has supreme coordination , footwork , timing , defense , speed and athleticism. Anybody would look good against the slow face first plodders Vitali hand selected. His style worked because nobody was good enough to exploit all his glaring weaknesses. Nobody expect a poor version of Lewis and a Byrd who took the fight on a weeks notice. Having physical advantages over smaller opponents doesn't mean Vitali is a better boxer than Joshua. Joshua has skills Vitali does not have , that as clear as day.
Vitali has a garbage resume I agree But I disagree on height ... Joe Frazier was not even 6' ... Mike Tyson wasn't 6' ... Both were great champions .... And Tyson continued to fight in the 90s and early 00s .... Ali would be undefeated if he fought Vitalis resume but when has Vitali ever ducked anyone? It was Lewis who ducked Vitali into retirement
