Looking back my earliest fight recollection is watching the two titanic battles between Milton McCrory and Colin Jones for the WBC Welterweight strap back in 1983, both absolute wars between two warriors.

When Deontay ducked underneath the check hook jab, and finished off Dustin Nichols.

For me it was Julio César Chávez Chávez vs Meldrick Taylor 1.

    couldn’t believe my young eyes.

all the other classics (corrales vs castillo , & gatti vs ward etc... ) over the years only fed this obsession & made me a fanatic.

I had watched Mike Tyson and Oscar fights previously. I also watched Pacquiao-Marquez 2 live, but it was Pacquiao-Hatton that made me REALLY look forward to the next Pacquiao fight. And that was when I really got into it.

The whole HW division between 1986 and 1992 when Malik Abdul Aziz first got locked up...
I watched all those fights as a kid, from Abdul Aziz vs Tubbs, Spinks, Douglas, and Ruddock, on through to Holyfield vs Douglas and Bowe, and can't forgot George Foreman was on a war path in those days....
But I was still just a kid and even though I loved boxing and had my favorite fighters to watch I didn't fully become immersed in the sport and start reading things like Ring mag until the first Holyfield Abdul Aziz fight when I was a teenager.

Man, I’m old and the early fights that hooked me were so long ago. I’ll have to go with mid 70’s fights by Ali, Hagler, and the olympics where Sugar Ray fought so beautifully. Olympic boxing back in the day was so entertaining to me as a kid. The olympics with Sugar Ray was memorable. Also, I remember the hype before the SRL Hearns fight. It was the most hyped fight I ever experienced up to that point. And the guys didn’t disappoint.

Honorable Mention, Alexis Arguello fights, Donald Curry when he was good, Mike McCallum, JCC, Sweet Pea, Meldric Taylor, even Macho Camacho was so much fun to watch and contributed to my boxing addiction. The Ali fights of the 70’s probably eclipsed these because they were mostly on free TV and were events. Everyone watched and boxing was way more mainstream than today.

First one I distinctly remember was Oscar vs Vargas. I was in like 5th or 6th grade my dad bought the ppv and I invited over one of my friends who I'd box with in the backyard (if you could call how we were fighting boxing). Was a close exciting fight and I paid a lot more attention to fights afterwards.

Barrera vs Morales 1. The technical prowess, strategies, power, back and forth action. It was an insane fight and I was hooked ever since!

Tyson initially, then Ali. I remember as a scrawny 135lber trying to fight like Tyson, getting discouraged, and then seeing Ali fight. It seemed like he was doing everything wrong but still winning and winning with style. I copied what I can from him and was throwing off the other novices with that footwork and that REALLY got me hooked into boxing.
