Punch landed like an overhand right. It screwed into. On the last replay seen how head shaken. Perhaps Tony has not lights out but he got really shaken.

Late reaction. I think his legs just gave up after that hit.

he didnt choose to get ko'd....

would u ever look for a way out of a fight???? u must be a lot more mentally stronger than a HW contender....

did u not see the way he fell? that is not a guy that is faking it.... he was still covering up while he was on the ground; thats how hurt he was but u are basically saying he is a pu$$y that just wanted to give up the last 2 rounds and dove at the first opportunity.... what a shame....

u said u boxed a little, well imagine going in to a fight an underdog getting KO'd and then people in the audience saying that u just wanted out of the fight....

For one, I never called Thompson a *****, nor would I. I dont see myself looking for a way out of a fight, but against a fighter like Wlad or Peter, I might for health reasons.

Thompson got caught with a good punch, it wasnt a decapitating punch like the hook Wlad landed on Brock. He was looking for a way out the last two rounds before the KO, he fell on purpose twice, he pretended like his knee was ****ed up so his corner can throw in the towel instead of going out on his back. I know how it feels to get pounded and want to quit, but you got to find it in yourself to fight on.

It's not exactly Vlad's fault, but his level of competition has been laughable...

Consider this: Peter, Byrd and Brewster are his career highlights. There is seriously no one else of note. In their primes, guys like Lewis, Holyfield, Bowe and Tyson fought this level of competition when they needed tune-ups. And this is just the 90's which are considered the sub-par era of boxing. As it stands, its a joke to rate Vlad as an ATG.

I doubt that. People looking for a way out will invariably fall backwards
on their backsides. It's natural and much less risk of an injury. I
doubt if Thompson would choose to fall forward like that with his face
and head speeding toward the canvas. I think he momentarily lost
control of his legs and he collapsed forward. He may have stayed
on the canvas. I agree he may have punked out because I think
he could have beat the count but think the K.O. was legit.

Take away Holy and Bowe's resume blows. Tyson? Just a retired light heavyweight and a semi retired ATG. Ruddock is his next best.

You seem to become worse and worse of a poster (about boxing) everytime that I visit this forum.

Fair enough, he seemed to be looking for a way out, but got hit with something bigger than he wanted, either way Wlad got the KO and noone can change that. Thompson had a good chin, just lost his will to win late in the fight, and that type of thinking will get you hurt.

I think your reputation is quite a bit worse than mine Widdow, at least I could put my nuthugging to the side long enough to make a decent post/thread, the same cant be said for you.

Pretty impressive group of fighters. Peter, a tough-chinned powerpuncher. At the time people thought Wlad was nuts to
fight the Nigerian Nightmare who was favored to K.O. Wlad by
many. Byrd, a modern day Jimmy Ellis with phenomenol boxing
skills and speed was the dominant heavy for a couple of years
was crushed twice by big Wlad. Remember how Ellis *****-
slapped a prime George Foreman because of his superior speed.
The even more massive Wlad outboxed the smaller speedster
and knocked him out. Wlad avenged his loss to Brewster in
decisive fashion making the tough guy quit in his corner crying
like a whipped puppy. Wlad methodically broke the American
down and forced him to crack like a schoolgirl. He outboxes
next a co-champion and amateur superstar Sultan with basically
his left hand. Shades of the immortal Muhammed Ali. He wipes
the floor with 2 6 foot 5 inch giants in Austin and Thompson and
people still question his greatness? Wlad is in his prime and will
put the fear of God into his future opponents and then will
    calmly butcher them with dispatch.

Said by who? Our fellow ESB members have voted me into the ESB Hall of Fame, with only 5-6 members out of the thousands who have posted in the last 6-7 years. Someone must think that I am a decent poster.

I honestly can't recall a single post of yours on a boxing subject that was even remotely acceptable as a decent post. You are a decent lounge poster, but your boxing knowledge is awful, and you never make a valid point.
