The Klitschko fans on here are really suprising me by making excuses for a fighter who actually won a World Title fight this afternoon... Is it not equally possible that Wlad Klitschko wasn't really landing anything that had KO potential in the early rounds, just as much as Tony Thompson somehow developed a Chuvalo like chin overnight???

Also look at this >>> http://www.boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Human:21633

It says Thompson lost to a guy who is 20-14-2, back in 2002, almost a week away from when Wlad defeated Jameel McCline in his 5th defense of the WBO Title that Wlad won from Chris Byrd... So no offense to Thompson, but seriously; how good is Tony Thompson??? The guy looked in way over his head, and still hung around until the 11th round... "Prime" Tyson would have wasted Thompson early, no doubt; as would Foreman, Frazier, Marciano, and the list goes on... If this is prime Wlad Klitschko, then I don't think he should be mentioned in the same sentence as "Iron" Mike or any of the All Time Great Heavyweights for that matter... It's no wonder The Ring Magazine still won't recognize Wlad as their Champ, even though he is holding on to 2 of the 4 Major Belts... I mean, believe it or not, I think Wlad is a good Heavyweight, but he is not on the level a lot people on ESB would lead one to believe... And he definietly hasn't done anywhere near enough to be considered on the same level as the real All Time Greats!!!

That was a 3 round fight, dumbass!

"Prime Tyson"??? Who went 12 rounds more than Wlad has in a 2 year span??? Green, Tillis, and Witherspoon??? Wlad has gone 12 with Peter, Byrd, and Ibragimov over an 8 year span.

And the others you mentioned? You have to be in your teens as I can rattle off a ton of fighters off each one's resume where they had an awkward fight.

    Damn your dumb!

Wlad Klitschko has done **** to be an ATG... The Ring Magazine won't even call him their Champ and the guy has 2 ****ing belts... But I guess you know more than THE RING right???

I like your style Johnny Blayzz, I do agree that Thompson's resume is very soft to say the least, and probably had no business being in the ring with Wlad in the first place, similar to Austin, with a better chin.

by your logic Mike Tyson should have koed James Tillis who had been koed 3 times before fighting Mike

Fair point Fire... But the point I am making is that Thompson was clearly in over his head, as was Frank Bruno Vs. Mike Tyson for example... Tyson wasted the timid fighter.. It's not like Thompson wanted to press the action or trade with Klits when his corner made it clear he was losing his shot at a World Title (well before the 11th round at that), and the KO was definitely suspect... I mean look at the slo mo replay post... You can clearly see Thompson lifting his right hand in a defensive motion before he drops to the canvas... Klits won the fight easy either way, but to be honest I wasn't impressed, nor I am impressed enough by Wlad's resume to honestly compare him to, or call him anything close to an ATG... I think Wlad is a very good boxer to be honest, but he's not the super-hero some people are making him out to be on ESB...

I'm not saying Tyson didn't have akward match-ups, or unexpectedly resilient opponents, or even miss out on KO opportunities in his career... I'm saying that "Prime" Mike Tyson didn't carry many fighters into the late rounds that really had no business being in the ring with him in the 1st place, minus Buster Douglas of course... And I have no doubt that Klits prepared a lot harder for this fight than Mike Tyson did for James Douglas... would you not agree?

BTW Tyson was only 20 when he fought Tillis, he was in his 2nd year as a Pro and was 19-0 19ko's before that fight... There's no comparison.. Before Tyson completed his 2nd year as a Pro Boxer, he was 28-0 26ko's and the WBC Heavyweight Champion of the World...
