Their both scared of eachother. Spence knows Crawford is all wrong for him stylistically and he doesn't want risk loosing his pbc cult. While overrated Crawford knows Spence is an actual world class fighter instead of a local plumer therfore his glass chin might get exposed. Boxing will never be the same again because of Floyd Mayweather. The top fighters ducking eachother. Trying to price themselves out of fights. Scared of loosing their 0 instead of trying to rein supreme in their division. I see why people perfer classic boxing. Rest easy Marvin Hagler
He said yesterday that the fight will happen, hopefully it does. Thats literally the Leonard-Hearns, De La Hoya-Trinidad of this era.
Honestly we can’t put this on Floyd because he had signature victories at each weight class before becoming a cash cow and picking fights. G. Hernandez, Corrales, and Castillo were better than anybody on Crawford and Spence’s resume. The truth is both guys are ducking each other but Bud is in a worse position. They both want at least $15 million minimum to fight and the market might not be there for it.
These guys are going to regret not having the fight. Its going to be a question they get a lot when they retire .
Feels like Crawford has decided he's comfortable with some boxing fans questioning his legacy and having to take a couple extra lower risk fights to reach his retirement goals, and Spence said the car accident put him in a more risk averse mindset. What that really means for Spence is unclear. Does that mean he mutually ducks Crawford but goes for Ugas, Ennis (when the time is right), and the Porter rematch or is he going to grab marginal contenders from the lower weight divisions?
Both are not doing enough to get the other so not going to blame one side individually as if they both really wanted it they could get it done.
They both looked very smug with themselves at the Hooker fight. Surprised at Crawford being content with a lowly wbo belt, They are both just belt holders, until they fight their final eliminator. Pity they don’t have the enthusiasm of Vergil Ortiz.
