We saw different things or observed different things. What I saw were 2 supremely confident guys.

Because they refused to fight him when he was on the way up. It’s only when he was champion and a box office hit they agreed to fight for highest career pay days.

    This.

If Crawford fought the 2021 version of Porter and won, it would be his best welterweight scalp by a good measure.
In addition, Porter has some risk for Crawford in that his style is quite different from anyone Bud has faced at 147, and there is a real possibility (not a probability) he could lose.

I agree. If he took this and won it would be a consequential win!

It would also strengthen his case for purse parity (or near parity) with Spence, especially if he stopped Porter.

Exactly but beating Josepito Lopez means nothing. Bud should be wanting to fight Porter and beat him decisively.

If Porter really wanted the fight and thought he could beat Crawford he would have taken the 2 million. Porter should be "wanting to fight Crawford and beat him soundly."

And when Crawford wins you will be on here talking about this not being the "2018 version of Porter" or some such nonsense.

It took forever but at least Crawford did eventually move up to start fighting opponents his own size, all he has to do now is fight some that are above C Level

And whilst Spence has arguably fought some B Levels they're blown up 135 and career 140 pounders who his 154 pound ass is much naturally bigger, stronger and more powerful than and on the two occasions he's actually fought world class natural 147 pounders he struggled like crazy against both even though one was a damaged goods weight-drained cyclops and both were or rather should've been coming off losses

Put a fork in the ass of this fight neither of them want that smoke

He does but don’t low ball him. If Top Rank want to promote the fight pay him properly. If they don’t know how to promote the fight which seems to be their problem let PBC promote the fight as both guys Porter and Crawford will make much more money.

No I think Porter is a better fighter now and at his peak.

What indication have you had that Bud wont fight Porter?

Dont use the money argument as thats a promotional issue

He has said on interviews that he was not really interested in fighting Porter. They also have a long standing relationship as friends since the amateurs. I get that but Bud is now 33 and he really does not have time to **** around. Beating Porter and beating him well will force the Erroll Spence fight. Right now no pressure on Spence to fight Bud unless it’s on his terms. Spence has 2 maximum 3 fights at most left at Welterweight. The clock is ticking.

Aside from the financial incentives, precisely because Arum won't have split loyalties and perhaps make decisions in favour of another of the fighters he controls in the same weight class.

We went down this road with AJ and Wilder who also had a massive disparity in demonstrated earning power. Wilder's fans were adamant that an 80/20 or 70/30 split was so insulting that it meant the fight would never happen and was effectively a duck on Hearn/AJ's part. I think once you're past 60/40 for two established belt holders it gets difficult to make it happen or to maintain that you really want it to.

One other point. Spence has managed with PBC backing (and good performances) to get more exposure and build a bigger following, but the reality is even he hasn't really properly broken through. Neither of these guys massively move the dial, but maybe a massive fight between them could change that for one of them at least. Maybe it won't happen, but it really should for both their sakes and for that of the sport.
