Frank Johnson

After reading your post and trying to do a bit of investigation I've not had much more luck other than "he died tragically".

Its like the Blackpool tower belt i never knew it existed till I stumbled across it whilst out with the family and quickly got dragged off

 

I knew Frank Johnson and worked with him at a small but exclusive Sale nightspot called "The Carina Star', just of School Road, from 1968 until just before his untimely death on June 7th 1970.
At that time, Frank was employed as a doorman and I was the resident DJ. We got along famously well and we had a huge liking for each other.
For anybody wondering what the man was like : I can confirm right now that Frank was forthright yet gentle, decisive yet respectful and unmoveable except under very special circumstances. An absolute gentleman with all persons at all times and under ALL circumstances. I NEVER saw him lose his temper, not once.

Many a night I would see him escort the usually problematic and inebriated unfortunate member of the public to the door, in the most polite and firm manner.
Frank had worked on the door there for several years and was a very well known and respected, local force of nature.
What Frank said - decided whether you left, walking or not, that was up to the individual.

Frank was bought an electric hedge trimmer as a present by I believe, a family member, which he was that day using to clip the hedges when he inadvertently and accidentally cut through the unseen electric cable for the clippers and he suffered a fatal electric shock.
The world is a lesser place after his passing. I will keep all my fond memories of those days of my old friend in a very special place.
