Most people with sense were saying that it was a bad move putting in an already shot fighter back in the ring vs a younger, stronger man after being an unlucky one who gets COVID to the level of hospitalisation.

We were clearly right. He shouldn't have been cleared to fight tonight. That was tough to watch and Whyte gets no credit IMO, as he looked like crap vs a corpse.

Typical of professional boxing. The guy should have retired a few fights ago, Ridiculous that he was been pushed into a fight a few months after covid19 at his age.

Povetkin has looked like a corpse for years... he looked shot when he nearly got KO by Price 3 years ago. But if people are stupid enough to throw PPV money at him, he is happy to take a beating.

What sort of protocol is there for someone be cleared to fight? He looked bad on the scales, and couldn't walk straight at any stage.

So annoying you have Eddie crying like a baby about fighter safety yet celebrating like a child there

Am I the only one that thinks he looked unsteady on his legs during the ring walk?

Didn't see his ring walk but other people mentioned it.

He looked shaky climbing the steps at the weigh in.

He looked shot in the first fight so no surprise here. Povetkin should retire now to save his health and well done to dillian another name on his resume and hopefully he gets to slap wilder about next.

They are big boys and all that but I hate the way foreign fighters are treated, especially decorated boxers like Povetkin.

No solid evidence but I just get the feeling they are treated like payed punch bags and don't get the respect they deserve.

It wouldn't shock me to learn that Hearn knew he was a walking corpse, if true shame on him.

Are there different protocols in different countries? Would a UK doctor have let Povetkin keep going after seeing the ring walk? All rather murky just to fulfil a PPV date.

You cant really win tho can you. Dont take the rematch and everyone says they avoided it. Take it and its picking on a guy ready for the grave.

I think povetkin deserved the right to fight tonight bearing in mind he knocked whyte out in the last fight. The onus is on him to make that decision. He made it...took the fight and lost. Hardly surprising considering he,d been in hospital with covid etc. But what can you do...you,ve got to give the 41 year old experienced guy the chance.

Hopefully thats him retired now tho....unbelievably hard man still giving young guys a run for there money at 41.

Hes looked a bit unsteady for a few years now but tbf...hes still been getting results. For me should have retired after joshua...he didnt tho and made a lot of money out of it. Good luck to the guy. Dont think anyone can have anything but respect for the him. Proper warrior...even at 41.

You could see it just from looking at how his shoulders had narrowed up compared to the first fight.

It could have been deadly in there if whyte wasn't such a clumsy plum. absolutely disgusting on the part of all parties who agreed to the fight and the board for not scrutinising things.

Not sure this was even sanctioned by the BBBoC as the event was in Gibraltar.

It was sanctioned by the Bank of Eddie Hearn.

And in even greater news, Eddie and Dillian are in the perfect place to have a browse of which yacht they might like to buy with the loot.
