Eh. I get that "fake" feeling from AJ, but Whyte not so much. Whyte seems fairly genuine to me. It's not impossible Hearn suggested Whyte do this as a PR move -- perhaps it's more likely than not. But, unlike with AJ's behavior, I think there was still at least some genuine sportsmanship there with Whyte.
Obviously Aj has a fake media personality. Its sickening. We all know who he really is. But yeah Whyte does seem more genuine i guess. It just sounds like Whyte's kind of rubbing it in
You get that from a 15 second video? I would understand if you had some personal familiarity with Whyte, but I'm sure you don't so your post is pretty much nonsensical BS.
Yeah, I can see that. I'm sure Whyte was genuinely very happy to get through that with a clean and dominant win. So I would say I can see both sentiments from Whyte: respect for the other fighter and glee he beat him.
So what are you suggesting that Whyte should jive and trash talk, call Povetkin a dosser, saying he wanted a body on his record etc etc.? Whyte merely showing respect, Povetkin shows respect to his opponents, Povetkin seemed to be ok with Whytes interaction. Whyte no doubt is frankly relieved he beat Povetkin so reaction seems appropriate to me The battle was done sportsmanship/respect shown, that is all good with me, boxing it seems is one of very few sport martial arts where disrespecting your opponent seems consistently acceptable. Try that in most martial art competition areas you would be thrown out of competition, do you think a judoka who has lost by Ippon wants to bow to his opponent at end of match, no, however it is required.
Just because it seems awkward and a little forced when someone is trying to be nice does not mean they aren't genuine.
