The rematch win against Povetkin did nothing for me. It was obvious to me from the weigh in that Povetkin had been ravaged by covid and that he shouldn't be fighting. I'd rank Whyte at around Chisora level, maybe.

Anyone with a sober mind would recognize that Whyte needs a convincing win over a legitimate 'live' young-ish heavyweight to actually establish himself as a world contender.
But if you believe the rubbish the promoters feed you, you probably have him ranked in the top 3 or 5 already.

Whyte is a tough "British champ" level heavyweight, nothing more, nothing less.

What do you mean by a convincing win?

A clear win with no controversy.

In professional boxing sometimes fighters get "wins" on their records with bad judging or by KOing someone with a foul blow and stuff like that. Those are not convincing wins.

He's a bit above Chisora its just that styles make fights. Prime Pulev beat Chisora far easier than Whyte did but that doesn't mean he would've beaten Whyte.

I'd like to see Dillian Whyte in with the likes of Joe Joyce, Hughie Fury, Martin Bakole before rating him as #3 in the UK.
He's certainly not #3 "in the world" as he seems to think he is.

I'd rate him slightly better than a shot Povetkin with a 42 oc fever and a level below a prime one.

I'd say Joyce is fundamentally tailor made for whyte, he's not hard to hit. But Whyte is on the slide IMO and could still struggle with the likes of Joyce. DDD is pretty green and I'd still favour current Whyte. Fury has no problems with him; too slow. AJ would demolish current Whyte. Whyte beats H.Fury, who is pretty rubbish.

Lewis, Bruno and Mason would KO him.
Bugner would win a wide decision.

Who would you definitively rank above him?

Fury and Joshua are givens. Ruiz for sure. Luis Ortiz? Best win Byrant Jennings six years ago, second-best possibly a shot Tony Thompson? Hunter? Based upon he draw with Povetkin? For me, he is right there with Ortiz, Hunter, Joyce and Parker jousting for a very loose number five spot. Nothing at all wrong with having him at number five for me.

Michael Hunter is above him based partly on a draw with Povetkin, yes. That fight almost certainly depleted a 40 year old Povetkin, who went on to KO Whyte. Whyte need two chances to get past an old man who just has coronavirus, that's bad.
Hunter also has wins over a couple of decent heavyweight prospects.

Fury, Joshua, Wilder, Ruiz are probably the top 4.

I'd rate some of those others above him.
