You owe no one an explanation on your purchasing habits but you can't seriously claim it was a great night of action.

The card was rubbish. Friday's card on BT was way more entertaining.

I think Whyte deserves credit here. He boxed a lot better than in the first fight and he was pretty much perfect. He did exactly what he was supposed to do.
And Povetkin is still sharp and able to let his hands go. In the first fight he held his own until the two knockdowns. But even then, he remained composed and set up a brilliant KO.
But like you said, he is 41. His legs are gone and his chin can no longer carry him. Reminds me of Hopkins in his last two fights. He could still move and react but just was one step behind. Like he could not focus on proper offense and defense at the same time.

Good win for Whyte. And I mean for him. As Povetkin is clearly past his best.
Whyte better hope that the WBC gives him his mandatory shot.

People are exaggerating because it was PPV.

It should never have been PPV but McKinson had a good underdog win over Kongo, Wardley made good progression against an albeit shot Molina, Metcalf Cheeseman was a good fight.

What I don’t like about promoters (Hearn) is they’ll wheel someone out (Campbell Hatton in this case) on a PPV for their debut on quite a high slot and then plead for patience and say it’s his debut, he’s had limited amateur experience etc. Well give him the 6pm slot then. Don’t put him in at peak times and then throw him in again on May 1st in another peak time no doubt. The same happened with Conor Benn. Let them learn lower down the cards and earn their way to top billing.

Yeh was a bad ppv like even though I caved and bought it, couldn't face more episodes of ackley Bridge with the missus.

I really wanted to see the British title fights so bought it for them. Obviously watched the others but wasn't that bothered about them. Povetkins was shot to pieces, and not being horrible about Campbell but he's just a fitter version of a novice amateur which I knew before hand like but it's a bit nauseating all the talk of the MEN etc.

Its mad though how beyond Joshua and fury etc how much of a niche sport boxing is. I sometimes forget being involved in amateur boxing having friends who follow it etc that hardly no one is remotely arsed about anything other than Joshua or fury. I see all these sports such as cricket, tennis and snooker that bore me to tears but the sad fact is they are infinitely more popular than boxing. Don't know if there are any older posters here but what was it like in say say the 70s would your average person be more likely to k ow who the British champions were. No would know who a British champion was these days except all us geeks.

In these circumstances I'm not sure how boxing beyond the top level can be funded

Thanks for posting this, It paid for the PPV.

The Cheeseman fight was the highlight of the card for me and whilst this domestic round-robin series of fights has revived his career it's must also be shortening it. Thats 5 back to back wars for Cheeseman.

Very disappointed with Fab last night, he looked like he was in a half assed gym sparring session. He’s much better than he showed but as much as I hate to say it, needs to look at a building a better team around him. Nick Webb fight would be very interesting now for the British.

Povetkin v Whyte 2 was exactly as I expected (thank you Skybet). Povetkin an absolute ghost of his prime and Whyte not even as good as he was last August. Sad affair.
