Chavez Jr. used to think his life was a tragedy, but now he realizes that it is a comedy.

Spot on. It's the culture amongst world champs of guaranteed PPV purses against subpar opponents like undeserving mandatory's and shot former names that's created an opening in the market for these WWE style freakshow cards.

Who actually believes Chavez Jr will take any fight seriously after watching his career the past few years?

He should be able to blow away Silva, but I could just as easily see him run every round, stink up the place, barely throw any shots at all, then throw his arms in the air after the final bell like he just won the undisputed title in the fight of the year.

"Silva said that he will box Julio Caesar Chavez, Jr., on June 19. The event, titled "Tribute to the Kings," will take place at Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico, Silva told TMZ Sports. It will be available live on Pay-Per-View."

"Tribute to the Kings is also slated to feature Chavez, Jr.'s father, Julio Caesar Chavez, Sr., in a special exhibition bout opposite the son of his former rival Hector "Macho" Camacho"

I don’t begrudge Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. using his name to make a living in boxing. Most people would do the same in his shoes. However he’s just such a waste of a fighter in most measurable metrics. The Jacobs fight was my last straw.

Refused drug tests gettin the fight moved. Quit round five after missing weight, he blamed head butts and elbows for his injuries when replays show that punches we’re responsible. Skipping training etc etc. Hope Silva wrecks him.

Huge Anderson fan but he could get hurt badly. His chin is gone and although Chavez is nothing special he's still a boxer and younger

There's more money in boxing, I think this has been universally established already. Why would you do prize fighting in another sport where the prize is significantly less than boxing?
